I dont see how this is sustainable for them... first, youre going to spend all game standing in a concessions line, there are only 4 general concession stands throughout their 21,000 seat stadium. Then you can get 4 items per visit, so youre in line all game to get max value..

I do agree, UNLV could provide some sort of package- like free popcorn or soda with ticket or something... might increase secondary concession sales plus add some family incentives.

Did a college tour there a month ago and they have a list of freebies they offer students longer than my arm so not surprised. $1 first run movie theater with free popcorn and soda included, residence halls with pools, hot tubs & BBQ's, private golf course, pilates, spin class where you study for tests with the group while doing spin, week before finals a free carnival with rides and food, a European style Christmas market first week of December...wasn't sure if it was a college, a spa or a private club.

Coastal Carolina Athletics will partner with its concessionaire Aramark to allow fans to eat free at Chanticleers Football games inside Brooks Stadium this fall, Chance Miller, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics and University Recreation announced Monday.

"Our fans are the heartbeat of Teal Nation, and we're always looking for ways to elevate their game day experience," Miller said. "With the CCU Kickoff Meal Deal, we're excited to offer free concessions this fall as a way to say thank you for the energy, passion and support they bring to Brooks Stadium every game."

Ticket-purchasing patrons visiting the concession stands will be able to acquire four items per concession stand visit from a selection of hot dogs, nachos, popcorn and fountain drinks. There is no limit to the number of in-game visits, but fans must scan each trip through the line with the soon-to-be-launched Coastal Carolina Athletics App.

More information on the new app will be forthcoming later this week.

Specialty items, food from outside vendors and alcoholic beverages will remain available for fans to purchase. Locations, menus, new items and student concessions information will be announced closer to the start of the season.

Coastal Carolina football will hold a spring showcase inside Brooks Stadium on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 5 p.m. ET. The event is free and open to public. Learn More Online.

Recalling UNLV do something similar. I think maybe it was either season tickets holders only at SBS or it wad an extra $50 or something like that on the front end. That is definitely one way to get people to go to games. Not sure what their attendance has been, but this ain5 gonna hurt.

No, but I also wouldnt come crying foul play and saying you were forced into signing an agreement that forces you to pay a penalty if you try and tear the conference apart that helps you out... How much market value were you willing to shed to play in CUSA or WAC for 2 years to avoid paying a penalty should you poach the conference that said "sure, we can schedule you, it helps us both"...

Agree 100% on the last part. The Pac signed the agreement meant to protect the MW against being backstabbed aka poached, but the Pac did it anyway and now doesn't want to pay what we agreed upon. F- that. Then we bend over and give soon to be irrelevant Gonzaga a full share when they don't play FB. And are now having to find someone - anyone - to be the 8th full member. What a bunch of shit.

Its been about a year since I flew up. I lived next to the Naval station in Bangor. Its a bit different from Seattle, but I get your point. The 5 was pretty terrible on the rare occasion downtown for work and couldn’t take the ferry.

It is nothing to the parking lot that is Los Angeles, or the Bay area. When I was working for (redacted media company), my drive from Las Vegas was about an 1.5 to 2ish hours less than some of my colleagues who had to drive to Burbank from Irvine. Lucky I only had to do that drive once in the 3 years I was there.

The the whole idea of "NIL" is a complete farce. Where is the "name image and likeness" part? DJ was in one Findlay commercial That aired half way through his second season. It would be nice if these players actually did something for the money? Where are those Jewelers commercials!?!?
