Coastal Carolina announced it would offer free concessions to fans at football games for the 2025 season, making the Chanticleers the first FBS program in the country to do so.

Maybe at least tickets for a free food item and drink?

Did a college tour there a month ago and they have a list of freebies they offer students longer than my arm so not surprised. $1 first run movie theater with free popcorn and soda included, residence halls with pools, hot tubs & BBQ's, private golf course, pilates, spin class where you study for tests with the group while doing spin, week before finals a free carnival with rides and food, a European style Christmas market first week of December...wasn't sure if it was a college, a spa or a private club.

I dont see how this is sustainable for them... first, youre going to spend all game standing in a concessions line, there are only 4 general concession stands throughout their 21,000 seat stadium. Then you can get 4 items per visit, so youre in line all game to get max value..

I do agree, UNLV could provide some sort of package- like free popcorn or soda with ticket or something... might increase secondary concession sales plus add some family incentives.

I am guessing you haven't been to a UNLV football game in a couple of years if you think they only have 21,000 or less people at a game?

I am a fan of specials for football too, especially since concessions are quite expensive there.
I know they are raising football ticket prices this year, which I get. We are finally getting good crowds and Mullen wasn't cheap, but I would like to be cresting 50K on the regular before jacking up prices.

I think football presents opportunities to increase attendance with concessions packages, but I dont think UNLV is in control of concessions at Allegiant correct? If not, maybe they could start selling concession passes with thickets where instead of going to a concessions it goes to NIL..

Their tuition is high but not outrageously so compared to other schools. Maybe what was once cheap real estate? It's valuable now but they got that property at a time when it was dirt cheap. Not sure though.
