Schedule release:

It seems that lately, UNLV releases their basketball schedule as late as they possibly can. I’ve heard the schedule of teams is basically complete although we are working on one more marquee game.
So, either the home schedule ( T&M) is just so weak that they don’t want people to know and hopefully sell some more season tickets, or they are still trying to schedule some meaningful home & home games. It’s hard not to improve onl last years non conference home schedule. Some leaks of scheduled home games is always fun. I miss those days…..

OC Brennan Marion interview on Group of 5 Guys

I enjoy listening to Marion talk. Sort of different reason than Odom, but not entirely different. Listening to him talk and tell his story, you can so easily understand why he is such a good recruiter. Other than his mind for the offensive game, he's got a story that really deserves light. Gotta imagine a great mentor some young guys on the roster.

(I say that knowing there will be comments about his resume, not staying put anywhere for long term)

Worth a listen

2025 Recruiting

For those that care about 2025 recruiting;

WR Tavian McNair is visiting from June 4-6. He just visited ASU and is thought to be close to committing. ASU and Dillingham are hot right now and his teammate just committed there. I dont think he makes it to campus tomorrow.

Commits LB Parker Meese and WR Cassidee Miles, S Logan Christensen, and local LB Alexander Green are visiting June 7-9.

WR commit Hayden Anderson and S Jovan Clark are visiting June 14-16.

We got most most of our 2024 class locked in last summer so these are some recruits to keep an eye on. Some other kids will be on campus, but these are the main ones so far.

Time

Man, this is flying by. It wasn't long ago I was a college freshman. Crashing frat parties with girls dancing in their lingeries. UNLV won a NC, I jumped off a roof with a BMX bike into a pool. Took the dance floor over. Now planning my eldest getting into med school and my second closely follow behind. The hardest things is teaching them to be humble and just be nice to people. They knew it but it is a constant reminder. Today's society seems to values the me, me, me mentality. Had to remind my youngest to hold the door for his Mom. I am tired and pissed at these new loud mouths in the social media.

OT: Movies 2023!!!

Getting a little head start.

M3GAN
Decided to watch this in theaters. Boy, was I so not disappointed in this. James Wan master horror movie maker hit all the right buttons. I thought the mother acted like sh*t and the kid actually acted better than the mom. This was surprisingly slow at first.
But it picks up..

I think this movie is actually good enough to bring your kids if they are like 9 years old. They will get genuinely scared at some of the scenes.

The music is actually very good. I won’t spoil anything but there’s a disco song on there that I’ve never heard before in my life. When the song came on, I immediately pressed my SoundHound app. It’s actually pretty bad ass..

If you got young kids, go take them, they will get scared.

Solid 8 out of 10

Up next, I decided to theater sneak and watch the Lebron James remake of House Party. This movie was an entire LBJ duck fest. Before it came out, I decided to check out the original movie and I didn’t finish the movie. Turns out Crapness begats crapness.

This movie sucked so badly on so many levels. I don’t know what to tell you. I walked out at the danceoff between the 2 hoes vs the 2 main characters dancing off to Montell Jordan’s “This is how we do it”.

Avoid this sh*t for brains movie at all costs. I had enough of it. If you like Lebron and he can do no wrong, this movie is probably for you.

2 outta 10.
