Looking at the box scores for SDSU's two losses it looks like there is a common denominator. Rebounding. Admittedly, we are atrocious on the boards. (225th). But they aren't stellar either ( 116th) We must get to the boards to have a chance. Another stat that sticks out is free throws. They are 81st for free throw attempts. BUT - we are 320th. They take 7 more per game. We have to limit their attempts and also attack the rim rather than take the jump shot.

Tarleton St up 9 over LMU, under 3 min to go at LMU.

It's too bad UNLV can't schedule LMU to get easy win!

After tonight, the vaunted Carroll College Christmas Carolers. But wait, there’s more!

UNLV just added another game since the Dayton game was cancelled.

Brace yourselves for this one. Clear your calendars.

On Jan 2, at the Cox Pavilion, UNLV will have to be near perfection when they host 0-12 Bethesda, a team that has lost multiple 50+ point games against top competition such as Hope International and Menlo!

But that’s not all! Remember how we used to laugh at St Katherine’s? Well laugh no more. The Kittens even beat Bethesda by double digits. So did another former opponent, the High Life Pacificas beat them by double digits as well.

Tickets are limited so rush out and get yours to witness the battle of the ages at Cox Pavilion.

I mean seriously. Just don’t play the freaking game. It’s embarrassing to everyone. I never thought UNLV would stoop this low. Listen, I understand getting takers at this point is impossible. But why have the game at all? It’s stupid, it’s a waste of time. We can take 7 40+ year old Rebel Netters and complete against the Bethesdas.

Wow. Just wow. I’m floored that we even considered this let alone solidified it.

Is this to faux-pad the win total? Juice up player stats? Beating Carol and Beth isn’t going to make them feel good about themselves heading into a game vs SDSU. You aren’t going to “get better” against teams like this. The players will be embarrassed to play these games. If anything, it’s a coach saying “we don’t believe you can beat real teams, so we will give you this”.

This is, yet again, a low point, IMO.

@lobby any insights/updates on what and when we should expect defensive upgrades to come thru? Key positions and players being targeted? Hoping for some good news on this side of the ball as we all know we need it.

but UNR looks to be legit. Generally I could care less about UNR but fair or not they’re a barometer for UNLV’s program. If UNLV is doing worse than UNR it should serve as a major red flag to the AD that the state of the program is in trouble. Obviously there are many other red flags, particularly now, but UNR is one that has an added bit of anger and frustration to the fan base. UNLV, with its facilities and history, should simply never be second fiddle to UNR in basketball. It raises questions not only of the coach but of the AD and the commitment to the program. It should be a firable offense for both. Not suggesting that Harp should be fired; he’s actually one of the few I have confidence is not at all happy with the current state of the program. But hell man where’s the pride? CKK now has all the pieces available and healthy. He better make a serious run in conference play. No excuses. Deliver or be escorted to the exit.

Is it okay for players that will get drafted to skip their bowl now? Or is everyone still of the mindset that thats quitting on your brothers.

Just a short month away a new league will begin its inaugural season. The Vegas Thrill one of 7 teams from 7 cities to begin the first season. I hope this takes off.

Are playing very bad against a terrible Anaheim team.

Interesting blurb from Grimala that the Houston and Kansas game is not yet confirmed. We haven’t replaced Army with anyone, right?

UNLV’s slate for 2024 has not been finalized yet. The team knows its Mountain West opponents, including home dates with Boise State and San Diego State (two teams UNLV did not face in 2023) and a trip to Pac-2 partner Oregon State, but the non-conference portion is not yet locked in.

UNLV had previously announced games against Houston and Kansas for 2024, but that deal was made before Odom’s hiring and the dates have not been announced, so we’ll still have to wait for confirmation on the non-conference opponents.

Wow, DRF did an awesome job building up that football team! I wish she did that for UNLV since she was here a lot longer.
