With how we looked vs SJSU, what is everyones predictions for the rest of the season?

This was a terrible loss and l think we are in big trouble after tonight. We all know that Parquet being out really hurts, but we cant rebound, have no true PG, and have no depth. I really think CKK needs to give spot minutes to Jones, Hall, and Nowell. At least we know Jones will fight hard on the boards, maybe Hall can give us an offensive spark, and maybe Nowell will defend. Something needs to change fast. And is there an update on Cottrell?

OT - not enough money to ever fix some athletes!

When a NHL player makes more money in one year than most make in a lifetime, how can they be so stupid to go $50 million into debt? Spent $1.2 million on rare snakes?

Finishing close games

Of our 6 losses, only two were convincing. For the other 4, we had a lead within the three-minute mark and couldn't finish. (Admittedly we had another close game we won against Wa. State. Ahead by 10 with six min left and won by 4).

I'm not sure if it's end-of-game coaching or just not quite enough talent. I am sure if we won those close games, we'd have two losses. That would mean top 30's NET and we'd be talking about post-season possibilities.

It's to the point that if it's close at the end, fans know the team is going to lose. They just don't know how.

OT: Kruger to the SEC

The dude is already talking to himself as he is being handcuffed. Probably done a shit load of weed..

Jeeeeesus, the guy was given a full ride scholarship to put a ball in a 10 foot hoop.

What do “I” think about “black” athletes?

Looks directly at @Ogami8888

It depends on the person and situation. There’s a shit load tons of kids in Las Vegas

I don’t know people unless I sit down and have a conversation with them.
Some are raised by their dads and others aren’t. In 2023..kids and I mean high school even through college.

I’ve talked to black kids at UNLV. They are still just THAT, kids. A lot of millennials or gen whatever these days that they are labeled as.

They are VERY respectful, well spoken and educated. They know how to talk to someone and are mindful of what they say.

I still interact and talk to people because that’s just who I am.

Take for example, Gervonta Davis. I absolutely love that guy in the ring. During his post fight interview, he is a mix of “punch drunk” and pure cave man. He sounds pretty much retarded.I f’n love it. However, he keeps on doing shitty stuff to get arrested.

It all depends on the person.

And having said that, I’d have to sit down with them one on one and pick at their brain.

I have a tendency to stereotype people when I’m on the streets. You absolutely HAVE to or you will be a target.

And what am I? I’m Asian so people on the streets already see me as an easy target. And guess what, I usually am.

That’s just the way it is..

While you are entitled to your opinion as a coach, I’m entitled to mine as well.

I don’t speak for Joe or any other mod on this board. I speak purely for myself.

I’m not going to delete your posts. I absolutely believe in free speech.

Peace out mother****er.

Rough Season

Hey there fans, I haven't been on the site in many months. I actually forgot I was paying for this but this season has been interesting to say the least. Going from 1 loss short of undefeated in non conference to falling apart and losing basically every game in the conference.
Here are my thoughts that are probably similar to many others:

1) Our offense is shitty. It requires too much iso creative play that we literally have zero structure to hold the team together in key times. Now watching basketball in college there is more of this free lance style with a ball screen motion being the go-to system of play. We don't have great sets when we need a bucket and we depend far too much on 3's.

2) our transition offense is average at best. We don't get out to run like past teams did. I have been rewatching the 90 and 91 team on youtube and its amazing how well the pushed the ball on makes.

3) Defense was great before however now its just lousy and we have bad help side rotations on drives. We take risks like we have a great rim protector but we don't. The 3 point shot has ruined basketball to a degree though. Its far too much of a focus lately and it drives me nuts.

4) Kevin..... what can I say. I love the guy but he isn't doing great lately. Coaching wins games based on what you did the previous days in practice and the system you run. Once the game begins its all adjustments, lineups, and using timeouts. I just don't think the team is responding to him as of late. Gilbert is a handful and he is giving him too much leash at times just like other players.

We are a terrible passing team I think. How many times do we successfully hit the big on a ball screen play? Roller gets it or we hit him for a post up, anything like that. Our guards are so predictable on the ball screen usage rates. They never pass it and are always looking for their own shots. I was talking with a juco coach buddy of mine who was in Vegas a few months ago and we discussed recruiting. He said, "I look for willing passers with good IQ." He explained that a bit and I realize that is rare in Las Vegas on HS teams in general. We don't have great passers. Dedon Jr is solid but in general at UNLV we have not had great guys like the old ones.

BTW, I watched the tarkanian classic and some kids that caught my attention were Sebastian Mack (currently at Coronado) and Lolo Rudolph from St. Augustine in san diego. Mack is a great athlete and competitor. I would take him over Dedon honestly. He is oozing with ability. Dedon is probably a better true PG but if you want a game changer than get mack. Lolo is a kid under the radar of sorts who looked really good versus Gorman. He is a stellar PG who defends well.
