New Mexico beats Wazzu

I get your point. But a place in the college football playoff would get you labeled as truly big time.
Here is our playoff scenario:

This week:
UNLV beats SJSU
CSU loses to Fresno (or below)
Army loses to ND

Next week:
Tulane loses to Memphis
UNLV beats UNR
(Or) CSU loses to Utah State

Champ Week:
UNLV beats Boise

Then we are in the playoffs.

It could happen, right?

To be honest, I just want to beat SJSU and then see what happens from there. One game at a time.

New Mexico beats Wazzu

Does UNLV playing Boise in the MWC championship even matter long term? Even if CSU wins their last 2? Just my opinion, but the best scenario for UNLV is to win the last two games and their bowl game. Even if UNLV doesn’t play in the MWC championship, with UNLV currently ranked 23, they would move up into the top 20 and potentially around 15th in the nation. That would be HUGE! Especially since conference realignment is not completed.

Unfortunately they still have CSU who must lose for UNLV to have a chance for a bsu re-match.

Collins

Hopefully he is not just another in a long line of over-rated players from Gorman over the last 15 years. He is off to a good start this year so hopefully it continues. The most impactful player to come out of Gorman the last 15 years was Ben Carter (not the most talented but very savvy and hard worker-developed that from his Dad and not the stellar coaching he received at Gorman)!

UNLV Top 25 Ranking?

That would be awesome!
There’s also the possibility we play some where else that has zero MWC tie in. Last year we were lucky to be going to mortgage rate bowl in Phx, usually that is reserved for the Big12 and BigTen.

Keep an eye on the Sun Bowl or Holiday Bowl. There’s a possibility the P12 and its former members can’t meet eligibility requirements.

UNLV Top 25 Ranking?

On the other side, I wouldn't want to see the reward being playing a mediocre team like USC in a bowl game.
Reading into last season, does being picked for a bowl “above our weight,” so to speak, mean that there is some interest to build our program into a national brand? I don’t mean from UNLV’s standpoint, I mean from a tv standpoint.

Or I’m overthinking that.

Very tough to turn a basketball program around. Very tough.

… When you recruit a similar level of talent and you don’t have high expectations and the offensive and defensive schemes are purchased from the 101 aisle at the 99 cent store … then it is tough to turn a basketball program around.

Slow growth is for suckers.

Ever notice how every coach (or politician even) is the greatest thing in the world, no matter who they are, even if they aren’t qualified …. And they are fully backed no matter the losses, even if their strategy/policies make zero sense to you personally, that makes your allegiance even stronger…. People call out the faults …. You dig in even deeper, no matter how irrational it is, you become mentally paralyzed and keep doubling down and tripling down when people are calling out the incredibly obvious faults … and you hang on for dear life until the bitter end … and then somebody worse is hired/run and you repeat the process?

Yeah, we got that going with a chunk of fans. Coach fans. They like the coach more than the school. The cannot admit being wrong/failure. They’ll disappear before admitting they were wrong.

Bizarre phenomenon
I have noticed that many of the voices that had been supporting Kruger have disappeared into the shadows!

Line ‘em up: Predictions and Game Thread UNLV at SJSU FOOTBALL

UNM is not slow growth that is for sure, perhaps even SJSU given what they lost, but they have been a winning program.
Again UNLV was coming off a 5-7 season and had 2 of the 3 years previous with top of the league recruiting classes.
UNM is having a good turnaround. But again they are fighting to barely make a bowl game.
So... it isn't an INSTANT turnaround.

Crack mac question

Are you talking John H’s recipe?

Good call on crock pot vs microwave. I think that would work well. I’m a heavy anti-microwave person though.

Lowest heat possible, might need to add a couple drops of heavy cream or milk along the way depending on how long. But seems like it’d be easy to handle that way.
I am "cooking it in the crock pot now" in a couple of hours I will turn the heat off and let it cool. Then put it in the fridge overnight. I will bring it to work that way then reheat in the crock pot. Our lunch thing will be 5 or so hours once I get in. Probably low heat for the first couple of hours then warm from there.
The noodles will probably be overcooked but that's better than microwaved

Crack mac question

I actually found it posted in an old RJ article. I believe it is the same recipe

Here it is

CRACK MAC

½ stick butter

2½ cups grated Parmesan cheese (divided use)

3 cups heavy whipping cream

16 ounces Velveeta, cubed

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 pound macaroni

Olive oil

8 ounces cream cheese, cubed

4 cups (1 pound) shredded mild cheddar cheese

Melt butter in a large frying pan and add 1½ cups Parmesan.

Slowly add whipping cream and Velveeta, stirring occasionally. Add salt and pepper, to taste.

Meanwhile, cook macaroni with salt, to taste, and a little olive oil; drain.

In deep 13-by-9-inch foil pan, layer cheese sauce (¼ inch deep). Add layer of pasta, then cream cheese, then 2 cups shredded cheddar.

Add layer of macaroni, then about half of remaining sauce; top with 2 cups shredded cheddar, 1 cup grated Parmesan and balance of cheese sauce.

Bake, covered, at 350 degrees for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes; uncover and let brown for 15 to 25 minutes longer
