11 wins with qbs that are probably in bottom 25% as far as throwing

Amazing we won 11 games with qbs that were so bad at passing. Offense the year before was way better at consistently moving the ball. Our stats only look good cuz of the big plays we had this year.

Last years qb with this year's team? I think we would be undefeated and in Boises spot. Anyone think different?

I do.

We would have been far less effective in the run game.

Maiava puts the ball in danger a lot.

We finish with about the same record.

Hajj struggled down the stretch but saying he couldn't pass when he had a pretty high completion percentage and threw for around 2k yards in 9 games seems kinda harsh.

Hard to criticize Hajj, like Sluka, his numbers were not good in terms of percentages in completions.

BUT when we needed a play, they made it happen. The other thing is, Hajj was not rattled last night. He was calm cool and collected. That has an impact and Hajj is a good QB for a team built on complementary football (meaning you need a QB to NOT turn the ball over).

So while the stats aren’t pretty, he did his job. Next season will be a different story and CDM did say they are running a spread offense.

It’s Time!

Football season is finally over and we can focus our attention on those Amazing Running Rebels. Kind of funny since turning our attention to bball used to happen mid-October. Times have changed!

Burning questions

Will the Rebels ever get to full strength?

Will we ever see a set 8 man rotation?

Will the Rebs win a game they aren’t supposed to?

How many head scratchers will they lose?

Will we ever pass the ball up court for a quick easy bucket?

Will CKK turn things around and return next year?

Does Harp have a list in his pocket?

Great Season!

What an amazing run by this group of guys the past two years. My dad was a K-State grad back in the 60s, and they had the absolute worst program for 40 years till Bill Snyder turned them around. My dad finally got to watch his alma mater be relevant in football. As a UNLV grad and Vegas native, I feel this is the same path I've been traveling. Just waiting for the Rebels to awaken. I think that time might have officially come. What a time to be a Rebel football fan.
Funny you mention Snyder, that IS the model that Harper keeps citing in his pressers when it comes to who he’s looking for or how the program should be run. Harper played under Snyder and knows who the real McCoy is when he’s interviewing coaches for the job.

He truly values hard work and as a result something special could be brewing here long term.

Great Season!

My mood might change once the portal starts swinging. But I woke up this morning still feeling great about the win yesterday. Thank you to my fellow fans on this board for caring and sharing in my enthusiasm about the team this season. We've had a lot of ups and downs, but it felt good to end this season on a bowl victory. May we continue to cite this season as the reason why mediocrity shouldn't be allowed in this program for the next 25 years. Super happy our community has grown. Reno still sucks, and we have a lot to look forward to.

Kamran Williams is staying a Rebel

A good story on Kamran. Went through a coach change going into his senior year but, he embraced the circumstances and showed his leadership. Doing the same for us with the coaching change. I like the kids character and leadership. Go Rebels.

Line ‘em up: Predictions and Game Thread Hey, we got a game in a few hours.

Odom has always given credit for al of the positives for the defense. He calls it "his" defense.

Though in these situations, who knows how much Odom was there for a part of the scheming, playcalling, etc.

That being said, I think Scherer is qualified to be a stand alone DC, he may have been that already.

If Mullen wanted to stay I would have been more than happy with that.
I'd love if Scherer wanted to stay. I'd love to see what his defense could do if he came back. But since Odom and Mullen are friends, Odom might have had a side bar conversation with Mullen on who Odom was planning on bringing with him to Purdue.

Mullen was the HC at Mississippi State when Scherer was in high school. He or someone on his staff could have very well tried to recruit him. Though to your point, even if Mullen tried to recruit him and if there is an established relationship; there is no way its to the same level with the student/mentor relationship that Odom has with him.

I wish he would have but also get it head coaches want to work with people they know and he probably has no relationship with him.
