So WTF do I get as a fan that has waited for this for over 269 years?Gronk said the belt was for the MVP of the game.
I appreciate what he did for us this season. He has a lot of good intangibles in that he didn’t pout when he didn’t start and he was prepared and ready to go and helped us move forward to a great season. He’s physically and mentally tough, and can run well with the ball, but man he just can’t pass at all. This dude started lights out against Fresno and has progressively gotten worse week by week!
He is not even a decent passer if he was we would be playing this weekend.Hajj is 5/18 passing.
He’s only 31???? Our boy needs a vacation and some time away from the sun. Thought he was pushing mid-40s at least. Them 31 hard years.Scherer pitched two consecutive shutouts in the 2nd half vs Boise and Cal. And UNLV won a bowl game when our QB goes 5/18. I'd like to keep him.
I’d love to keep him too. Not happening but it’d be great.Scherer pitched two consecutive shutouts in the 2nd half vs Boise and Cal. And UNLV won a bowl game when our QB goes 5/18. I'd like to keep him.
He was excellent at adjustments. When you think of how much better our defense played in the second half of games this year. It is a shame we can’t keep him.Scherer pitched two consecutive shutouts in the 2nd half vs Boise and Cal. And UNLV won a bowl game when our QB goes 5/18. I'd like to keep him.
This is an understatement. He was excellent at adjustments. When you think of how much better our defense played in the second half of games this year. It is a shame we can’t keep him.
I wasn’t paying attention who won the belt from Gronk? What a season. 11 wins and we put UC Berkeley undo .500. Go cry into your 86 “National Championships” in rugby, rowing and water polo.
Ok I’m done. Go. Fight. Win!!!!
He showed up and did a great job making adjustments like he has all year long.Well, Scherer might be on the way out the door, but he won’t be at Purdue long either. He’ll find his way into a HC seat in a couple of years.
Agree! He was excellent at adjustments. When you think of how much better our defense played in the second half of games this year. It is a shame we can’t keep him.
Jacob DeJesusI wasn’t paying attention who won the belt from Gronk?
Edit. Yes, the belt was the game trophy. Woodard and DeJesus received individual traditional trophy's for offensive and defensive players of the game.Eh, it was also a belt for the game trophy
Mullen didn't even give the guy a chance. I'm guessing Odom didn't give him a chance at Purdue but, I'm not sure. We will see him on the sidelines somewhere in the near future. He was excellent at adjustments. When you think of how much better our defense played in the second half of games this year. I wish he would have but also get it head coaches want to work with people they know and he probably has no relationship with him.Mullen didn't even give the guy a chance. Mullen was the HC at Mississippi State when Scherer was in high school. He or someone on his staff could have very well tried to recruit him. Though to your point, even if Mullen tried to recruit him and if there is an established relationship; there is no way its to the same level with the student/mentor relationship that Odom has with him.I wish he would have but also get it head coaches want to work with people they know and he probably has no relationship with him.
Odom has always given credit for al of the positives for the defense. He calls it "his" defense.Mullen was the HC at Mississippi State when Scherer was in high school. I'd love if Scherer wanted to stay. I'd love to see what his defense could do if he came back. But since Odom and Mullen are friends, Odom might have had a side bar conversation with Mullen on who Odom was planning on bringing with him to Purdue.Odom has always given credit for al of the positives for the defense. Though in these situations, who knows how much Odom was there for a part of the scheming, playcalling, etc.
That being said, I think Scherer is qualified to be a stand alone DC, he may have been that already.
If Mullen wanted to stay I would have been more than happy with that.
