Assuming Hawaii gets done..Then what?

I know this guy is a PAC 12 mouthpiece, but Cofield did an interview with John Canzano, who doesn't think that the agreements that UNLV and AF signed (as well as the other schools), would hold up if schools really wanted to leave. He's hinting at the PAC and MW working through this mediation, while the PAC gets the final numbers for the media deal, and the UNLV could still be in the works, if they desire to join the PAC.

Canzano is a total hack. I wasn't aware that he has a law degree and specializes in contract law (snicker).

Che

I like this dude’s versatility and toughness!
He seems like a guy who will stick his nose into everything, just because, I like guys like that.

A guy like Che does not seem soft minded!

I use to complain constantly about football and basketball not being good enough and the coaching choices were the reason. Now not so much to point out.

We might be ranked in both sports come season’s end and that ain’t nothing to complain about.

Thank you Dan Mullen and Josh Pastner!
Lindy is nice too!

12?

Why could CJP put together ( at least on paper ) such a better roster than CKK? Was Pastner able to free up more NIL $$ from people who had given up on Kevin?
Pastner is a better coach!

He was a former HC and has run 2 different programs before. Kevin did not have that experience even with who his dad was.

This is the reason why you hire former HC’s ONLY!
No ramp up time needed, they hit the ground running, from day 1!

I agree with one of those things, and it’s not UCI’s campus. A very sterile boring campus in a very very boring sterile suburban city. I hate the suburbs and Irvine would be the picture I’d draw if I were drawing a picture of one.
I do agree with you that Irvine is a pretty boring city.
That's why, I go to the inner cities of LA. Where, it is a more gritty and exciting sites to see.

12?

Fans have to go back to the Mack, time to bring the passion and pride back. Nobody was interested in a dry ball coach with a mediocre roster.

Now it’s all completely changed, a total 180. A coach with a pulse (rizz) and drive to put this roster together. Now practices will be different, competition matters, taking care of yourself matters, a lot more passion, excitement, yelling and running around etc. Everything is very different.

Gamedays CJP will be very vocal and animated on the sidelines, he has an act and that will be entertaining itself.

It’s going to be a totally different atmosphere at the Mack, and I believe the fans will return and it will be hopping.

12?

as we did. In ever position with the exception of DJT and we did not do to bad with the player we got. Actually might have a better year than DJT. Still wish we kept Henley. I think he would of been fun to watch with THESE players around him.
I think it's the most on-paper talent we've had since prime Rice years. Lots of guys comfortable handling the ball, a LOT more length and athleticism, and a few guys who have enough 1-on-1 skills to get buckets. I've gone from luke warm to warm on the Pastner hire. Just the fact that he's everywhere in the community and making sure that he's out there. I figure the NIL money must have gotten a boost for the Cunningham signing. But then to get Kimani (excellent player under Alan Huss who has a knack for getting to his spots, and a solid mid major point with 3 years of elegibility left in Che. I'm a little impressed.

I feel like someone who understands the layers and responsibilities of being a head coach is driving the bus now. I don't know what the results are going to be but this looks to be a deep and relatively well constructed roster. Another legit big would be nice just from an injury/foul trouble back up plan, but they'd have to be okay with small money and limited in game run. But hey, you need 15 now, nothing wrong with a project guy who comes and gets developed.

12?

I haven't seen anything. Can you post what you're talking about?

Got a link on that? I haven't been able to find anything that confirmed that, but since he's not enrolled yet he wouldn't need to transfer, he could just reopen his recruiting--though we'd have to release him from his LOI (which I think any coach is going to do, one of the quickest ways to dry up your recruiting is to try and hold kids who don't want to be there hostage).
The link is on the Confidential Board…or is it? As Scrub noted, only the super rich will find out.

Facilities played a large role in Mullins decision.....

I agree to a extent, and Allegiant fixed all of those issues. State of the art facility in a central location.

Yet fans still took a while to show up, complained about parking or other things.
Outside the first year you double the cost of tickets and 3x+ concessions. It would take winning to get past those incursions anywhere in G5

Assuming Hawaii gets done..Then what?

I was talking as the AAC as being a comp for exit fees, not that they are canidates for expansion for the PAC.

With the exception of the newer AAC schools. They currently do not get the 9 mill per season ( what they get has not been disclosed anywhere I have seen), and many of them would not be crazy for travel in good markets like UNT and UTSA. I don't think they would be added now, but I think they could target them as future expansion but they would need to declare soon to be in that > 27 month window.

As for the GOR, and I need to look at it again, but I got the impression that it locked us in to the point where we could leave, but the MW would have the rights to our media revenue. So we could leave, but the MW would get the money we would be paid from the PAC? Something like that?

I am sure there is some sort of legal out potentially, but it seems much, much more difficult. Clemson and FSU have something very similar and they seem locked in, even with lawyers.

'UTSA’s travel costs would likely increase by $1, 000,000 to $1.5 million annually (50–100%) if they joined the Pac-12 for all sports, driven by longer flights to Mountain and Pacific time zone schools, especially for Olympic sports. Football travel would see a modest increase ($200,000–$300,000), while Olympic sports could add $1–$1.5 million due to frequent cross-country trips.'

I saw we hired Joslyn Tinkle as Assistant Coach. Burris got the HC job at Portland State so gave us that opening. I hope Joslyn works out. She played with Lindy at Stanford. Also, Tinkle's dad is the HC at Oregon State so she has been around basketball probably her whole life. I like the hire. She has WNBA and overseas experience and has bounced around as an assistant coach. Welcome to Las Vegas.
