I'll keep this as the general baseball thread since everyone posts on this board basically. All in season thoughts go in here along with results or other articles.

We will actually be doing some stories and have a baseball page, too. A little sporadic in the beginning, a little more focus as basketball winds down.

You can just transfer it over when you make the baseball page then. I'll keep it updated for now I suppose.

Yeah, no worries.

When I say baseball page, I meant that stories can be "slotted" as such and they will be directed in that way... Right now, we can direct stories to go to football, football recruiting, basketball and basketball recruiting (top header of the site). Soon, baseball will be added.

As for a forum, it'll probably be up (and blank) in a couple of hours. But please, feel free to post wherever you'd like at this point.

Oh, and even though I didn't get back to you right away, I did get that email. I'll be in contact, if not, send me another to remind me.

Yes you can. Every home game will be available online for free. My son and I watched last nights game. Very solid pitching and hitting. Base running was excellent also. They need to clean up the errors though.

Anybody know what happened to Sam Thomas? He was my PE teacher at Green Valley years ago and I was his teacher's assistant the year after. Think I heard he coached Harper at Las Vegas High or something?

He's been coaching the varsity program at Vegas for 10+ years now.

Sam Thomas is a very well respected coach and the ONLY REASON Bryce Harper played at LVHS...

Glad to hear it. He was one of the coolest and best teachers I ever had, even though it was only PE. He was behind Fairless in those days.

I saw him at a restaraunt a few yers later but couldn't look him in the eye because I ditched the last week of my assistant class my junior year. He didn't even do anything about it. Such a class act he was.

I talked to Ron Harper when Bryce was a soph at LVHS...gave him hell for being a Rancho grad and sending his kid to Vegas...Only reason was Sam Thomas...He knew he would keep Bryce grounded....AKA another student of Roger Fairless...Sam played high school ball with Greg Maddux...

That means that Thomas caught for Maddux then right? He was a catcher when he played IIRC. Not too many people can say that. Maddux was one of the greatest of all time when you add in what he accomplished without great stuff. Don't get me wrong, he had decent stuff in his prime, but not compared to the junk these guys throw out there nowadays.

I remember hearing stories of Maddux prediciting not only where a hitter would hit the ball, but how many bounces it would take on the way to the third baseman. He really was a genius baseball mind. Wonder why he isn't managing?

I think Greg took a front office job with the Cubs...He was talking about being the Gorman pitching coach before it all came down...Guess I could call Brother Mike to find out for sure...LET'S FRIGGIN GO REBELS!!!!! shooting bricks as i peck....

UNLV blew the lead in the 9th 14-14

then got the game winning run in the bottom of the 9th.


UNLV wins Game 1 of the Double Header 15-14.

The gametracker scoreboard isnt updating, still showing the first games score.

I lost track of the score after 3-2. They pan to the score after the inning but I keep missing it.
