He really improved after transferring out of Trinidad State (JC) where he only started one game and averaged 7 pts.
Although not discussed much. Last years UNLV team was the worst rebounding team I can remember. I like the 6.4 rpg coming from the 2.
*on paper.. there was alot of hype on this commitment on X last night... don't think it was worthy of this pickup necessarily.
He averaged 31 min/game last year

I like the 38% from 3. The shooter we need. This is a nice pick up. Get a Dedan back up and call it a day. Now I have more faith in the upcoming season.
Against power conference competition (Kansas state, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State) he averaged 17.5 points and 6.8 rebounds

This is an impressive get. He seems exactly what we needed.
I haven’t seen the kid play live/game situation, based on size, stats, stats against like competition, it appears to be a really strong get for the Rebels. Fills a hole nicely. A player with a skill set that we didn’t have on the squad (and we didn’t have year prior either).
Still need to shore up other areas including a capable PG backup.

It took till almost Mid-May to get this one and we still have an open spot... we couldn't find a wing or shooter so far... might as well grab a young backup PG with upside to give you 5 minutes off bench so DTJ can rest
I like that CKK is adding players with adequate height. No more sub 6' shorties.
Whiting can cover both guard spots and hit the three. He provides good value even if he may not play a ton of minutes.
You can't have 13 players all play big minutes. You need some to cheer from the pine. With Kruger your going to have 4-5 player see garbage minutes only.
Just a follow up. I am still impressed with the 6.4 rpg from a 6'4" 2 guard. After looking at more film, I can see why. The kid is a plus athlete. Watch the put back slam on the Oklahoma State center 25 seconds in. IMO the kid has a 40' inch vertical +/-. Also, nice handle.
