Is it just coincidental? Let's be optimistic and say maybe not.I'm mean logistically it makes way more sense.
Not to be a Debbie downer. But it being carted off ans coming back with crutches is. A bad sign. They will get imaging to confirm what they probably already know or strongly suspectCrutches are precautionary until they get an MRI, confirmation of the issue.
After the Oklahoma game verse Houston, we know that they are not a bad team. Watching the Oklahoma vs Houston game, I would put UNLV up against Oklahoma with confidence.UNLV DID NOT run up the score, Odom didn’t have them score this many.
Especially after the half, Most runs were of the vanilla variety. A few RPOs in there, a few QB designed runs. Certainly weren’t trying to run it up, to the converse … ran clock and went bland. It was just a total mismatch. And remember, we utilized players we may need … Hajj, Friel, some runners and receivers, DL line and linebackers dove into the depth chart. These are people we need ready.
And it’s hard to say characteristic or uncharacteristic of the DB’s. They weren’t challenged at all vs Houston. We are ASSUMING them to be pretty good because of previous stops and stats … but we don’t know yet. A bad (or shellshocked) Houston team and a really bad Dixie State team … don’t know yet.
My logical analysis..
2 weeks ago: UCONN in talks with Big 12 to join conference...
Last week: UNLV spanks Big 12 Houston on the road
Today: Big 12 pauses talks with UCONN
Me: Big 12 paused talks because UNLV showed how serious they are for football which trumps better basketball brand in realignment ...UNLV to Big 12..
Yeah that can't happen...looks like OU will pull it out.2 kick returns for TDs... that's crazy
Still would depend on the overall body of work. We don't get an auto bid from the MWC, but instead, the highest ranked G5 school by whatever the playoff committee's criteria is would get in. The more losses some of these other top schools have, the better our chances to get in.
Well, some of us remember Howard University @ UNLV. Howard a 43 point underdog beat UNLV 43-40. Shame on us. Largest upset versus the spread in college football history.Just saw the highlights.....my goodness, can a football team be this bad?

Shutout didn't happen, but UNLV won by 58.I think UNLV after losing the shutout in the last minute against Houston will pitch a shutout. 56-0
Recall UNLV’s secondary was pretty much Swiss cheese last year and was exposed when it played SJSU, BSU and KU. I’m hoping our defense is the difference this year.UNLV have been prepping for this game since last year. Cannot believe this KU team beat UNLV last year. But they did.
Illinois maybe a decent team but they are playing like crap.
Don’t they have like professional “cryers” or mourners in the Philippines. Heard about that.Through the 70's and 80's my ex brother - in - law was in business with a Brazilian ( guy he met and befriended in college ) and they imported used computers to Brazil. He made so much cash he sold his half of the business and retired at 35. He never married but lived in Malaysia and then the Philippines. Died a few years ago. I didn't make the funeral but it was in Manila. I was told there we a dozen women there who were crying when he was buried.
He looked great, he and Jackson are a pair!I like our depth there but if he is unable to go it definitely hurts.
