Pac-12 and MWC Lawsuit Update

Jokes on you I transferred all that money to the nice Indian sounding Gentleman named John Smith from AMERICAN INVESTING COMPANY who called today promising he could double it in a few short weeks. All I had to do was give him my SS# address and date of birth and he would handle the rest..
I appreciate the business Bull. Anyone else want to invest? Bull has my contact information :).

That said, you all know that this Coug thinks the Pac lawsuit is a bunch of BS. Which causes me to get grief on my trainwreck of a board, where Coug topics only occasionally appear in amongst the multiple political threads.

While of course I should be rooting for the Pac to prevail, I don't see any merit in our crybaby lawsuit. And what in the poaching fees is that different from the draconian GOR's, etc. that the ACC has? Talk about anti-trust and hurting competition.

And yes others in this thread are correct in distinguishing the poaching lawsuit/issue from the exit fee issue. 2 completely different and unrelated matters.

Update Marion 24/7 insider!

it from the 24/7 "insiders" he just quoted it. I cant read the whole thing obviously. Several posters made the comment hes going there. Accurate or not. Marion is gone. IMO. It going to be real interesting to see who our OC is going to be next year. WHO ELSE LEAVES?? Almost all of our coaches are going to get a nice pay raises ! Either with us or someone else.
What are the chances that we can keep Shibest (spelling)? Special teams has been a huge asset for us and I'm sure others programs have taken notice.

Update Marion 24/7 insider!

I could post something from my dead grandmother, and it would have more followers than Terminator5.

Line ‘em up: Predictions and Game Thread Mississippi State

UNLV 62 60

Mississippi State was ridiculously mediocre under Howland, he was just looking for some extra pay heading into retirement obviously, he had free reign to cheat in the SEC and he was extraordinarily ordinary, this coming from a coach who had a couple of FFs to just skating by putting up boring numbers. I bet few knew he was at Miss State those that did probably didn’t know he’s gone.

I’m glad we didn’t get him here, like the first time he wanted to come here, he was about money and security at that point in his life, at least UNLV didn’t allow themselves to be used by him.

But now they’re ranked without him. Missed the NCAA’s in Howlands last three years, made it the first two without him. More slow growth.

And now they are ranked. Slow growth for the win. But not today. Dedan is too much for them.
Not so sure that Memphis is all that good a loss anymore considering UConn is now 4-3 on the season (lost to Dayton 85-67 yesterday). The bright spot on the schedule for UNLV against Memphis is a little dimmer now. Mississippi State is one of the few chances they have out of conference to make any mover towards respectability. Now on to football!

MWC Championship tickets

Live in Boise and love it.. the weather isnt bad at all.. yes get some snow but generally speaking the weather is great.

Will be at the game (assuming we handle Reno Saturday).

Will be a great atmosphere in Albertsons stadium. Boise fans are nervous!

Albertson's Stadium.

For legal purpose has to change it's name to.

'Formerly know as Albertsons soon to be called Smith's a subdivision of Kroger depending on the outcome of the Anti-trust monopoly lawsuit currently in the court..Stadium.

OT: Women’s Volleyball

Boise drops out of the MWC Tournament rather than play SJSU. They played yesterday and beat USU. Their game with SJSU was set for tomorrow.

Inside the Headset: Barry Odom

Not sure. I think there are some unique differences in the management of a program/franchise. Grown men with huge contracts vs kids becoming men with, well, used to be no contracts. Sometimes one is easier to reach than the other.

I like his demeanor with our team, I like that he’s high expectation and accountability. Not saying you don’t do that in the pros either, but his way, at least for us, seems to really resonate with our players.

He took over a bad program with some marginal players, added some talent in and he made it work, appears he got heavy buy in. That’s not easy but he did it.
The Detroit Lion's HC has been able to do the same. Take a franchise who was Barry Sanders and turn it into a favorite to with the SB.

Few have that ability.

A spring game to check out

I’m in the understanding that they aren’t going to make a move in basketball and put all available funds towards Odom which should be the case. It’s wild that we can get a ton of people to football games this year, yet can’t crack 5-6k for UNLV hoops. Something I thought I’d never see.
I agree if the choice is money towards a buyout and a new basketball coach or a new contract for Odom then I will choose the letter for certain.

Concern with UNR game

I can see it now, Winnebago pays UNR's exit fee to join the PAC 12.
I know they’re as stuck as we are. But hypothetically if they screw us in such a manner; we declare war. I mean it. We rise up and push them out of the state. They can be 51st state of the United States. We’ll add one more star to every flag. They can become the state of reno. We’re keeping name Nevada and the rest of the state.
