Odom leaving for WVU?

I thought it was gimmicky/innovative/unique last year … the sidecars … and we did it with a QB that doesn’t move well. But yeah, we have fallen back into the mean of what the vast majority of offenses play. And we struggle pretty badly in the red zone.

But the guy can recruit. But even that is replaceable now that everything is pretty much NIL driven.

The key is and always has been Odom, not Marion, not Scherer.

Top 10 in rushing in the country.

It's like when people say 'Army's offesnse is so simple. It's actually not. A ton of different things are done off similiar looks'

I swear if we were top 10 passing offense people would think how innovative and multiple the Go-Go offense was.

Marion said from the start It's an offense based on a downhill running game.

Can Marion be replaced? Of course.

But I'm currently enjoying being top 10 in scoring offense and all these rushing yards. Yeah red zone has been an issue to some degree. Other than that kinda hard to complain about the results.

Agree 100%. Coordinators almost never stay at good programs. Especially younger ones. Bot Marion and Scherer will leave at some point if they continue to produce. New guys will come in and will leave as well. It’s a great problem to have and one we’ve never had before. We are successful because of Odom, not the “go-go”. He is the one we need to prioritize. He too will be difficult to keep though if he wants to get back into a P4 spot. Really depends what he wants at this point in his career.

Lady Rebels

I heard that Desi had an injury issue keeping her from playing overseas.

Feels as if the team does miss Desi's presence and they need to find a way with a different kind of leadership. I think McKinna Brackens can be that person but will have to grow into it as opposed to Desi who had it from season 1.

Can't agree more that there is not a go-to player at the moment. For 3 years Kiara was the one who could hit that pull-up jumper when the team needed a boost. It's a struggle. So glad she ended the 0-14 start to the season on 3-pointers. Think it made to 16 before she 2 of the next 3 tries.

As much as playing these tough games can help, need to win a few as well. Former coach thinks the Northwestern game is one of those.
I, think the right game to sort of get the Lady Rebels over the hump is our next game. UCF.
They, are a P4 team that is similar to us. They, are athletic with length and are 5-0.
Haven't, played anybody except Marquette. All at home. This, will be their true road test. This, is winnable.

Yea, Brackens looks like she can be a leader for us. Hope, she steps out.
Disappointed, in Alyssa Brown's season. She, is too quiet and her on the court performance has been under whelming.
She, scored 2,600 points in HS. You, would think that would translate nicely, to the college level.
She, never averaged scoring double-digits in a season. That, time for her is now.

Kiara, is the leader for us. She, is the player that is leading the team so far.

Nah, once they start to establish a new normal, they’ve gotta be consistent with it before I have faith.

The normal always prevails to me until it’s uprooted. I sometimes wish I did have it, but blind faith has never been easy for me.
I’m not going to lie, wasn’t too excited at halftime. But, this team has proven to be super solid all year long, even in the two losses. Best thing for us was that the weather never let up. Really took the passing game out of SJSU’s hands, which is their only strength.

TOP 40 to 20.

That’s a different game for the Rebs. That’s not UNLV’s game.

But that’s a credit to the D. How many 3 and outs for SJSU? 7? Allowed only 3 third down conversions…

We definitely wore them down and had some time chewing drives.

Passing was awful. Hajj wasn’t close. Ricky with a couple of straight drops. But as bad as ours was, SJSU’s was worse.
Nobody would have looked good passing with that rain storm!

It was a grind it out, good win for the Rebels. It sure as shit didn’t feel that way as the game unfolded, I really thought it was going to be one of those “kick me in the gut, our own worst enemy” types of losses. Until Jet started getting some chunks and it was noticeable SJSU was wearing down, it became - steady; just steady, no turnovers.

I’m ecstatic to be honest. I just wanted to escape there with a win.
Gotta have faith man!

That's been a big plus for us all the running we do , and we hardly ever fumble.

Odom leaving for WVU?

Odom has had successful OCs every time he's had to hire one.. I'm not worried about Marion leaving, the Go-Go sounds cool to sell kids, but it's looked alot less Go-Go and more traditional RPO/triple option, with a few deep shots. The next OC will probably be able to provide just as much excitement to the offense, Odom doesn't do the boring stuff, lol.

Rebs turned another corner after being ranked (again) and going on the road to gut out a huge win. They could have easily made excuses about the weather and let this one get away but that’s not the make up of this program anymore. I’m the biggest Fresno fan tonight. Please please give us another shot at Boise. I like our chances on the road where seem to play with a different mentality.

Lady Rebels

Desi Rae Young, did not use her Covid Year.
And, she is not even playing professional basketball this year. What give's, Desi? You could have really helped us.
We, do not have a go to player, at all.
But, in reality. Every team, in the Mountain West, would have gotten destroyed by #9 ranked Oklahoma too.

Lady Rebels, will win the MW regular season and MW tournament again.
Probably, a 12th seed. NCAA's, here we come.
