PAC 7

I believe I read that the MW actually needs 2 schools because you have to 8 full members. If that is accurate, football only members don’t count toward the 8. Of course Hawaii could bring all of their sports over, but I think they also prefer their setup for cost reasons. 9 makes the most sense anyway. New Mexico St, UTEP, Texas St and perhaps Sam Houston St are the most likely to flll the vacant MW/PAC slots unless some FCS schools want to make the jump.

Thats why I fully expect one of 2 things...
They out of all the schools pay the full fees.. Remember the conference settled with them last time and I dont think they were forced to pay either, I cant see them getting off without paying this time.
Or
They realize that the new Pac 12 isnt exactly the brand they wanted it to be and come crawling back to the MWC...
I do wonder what sort of contract the MW5 teams have signed on to. Since they're all members now, I'd expect that they would all have voting rights to determine who else is invited, and if at equal shares or not. If the group that has announced they're leaving can't agree on an 8th school, that would obviously be a problem. Also, if they were to get a media deal that is either 1)less than expected, or 2) on Amazon or some other streaming platform, then I could definitely see some of the schools having major buyers remorse.

TV Deal

I'm interested in what the MWC and Temu7's tv deals will be. It will be more interesting to see who each add in order to fill the sports prior to negotiations.

I think a guarantee for the MWC is NMST; the Aggies and UNLV back together like the Big West days.

Other than that, I could see us dipping into Montana to revive UNLV vs. Hauck and add Montana State.

Did Hawaii sign the pledge to stay? I'm too lazy to look, m'friends.

Anyway, I think someone hit the nail on the head with CBS with slots with ESPN, as well TNT/TBS. I'm hoping Temu7 get Apple or Amazon. Damn, that would be hilarious.

This will be a madhouse/circus.
Not sure what people have been basing it on, but I've seen reports stating that some expect the next MWC media deal to have a similar annual value (per school) as the current one. Yeah, inflation and all, but IMO, that wouldn't be too bad considering the losses.

And others stating that they're expecting the PAC to not get as much as they've been selling others on as well. It would be hilarious if both conferences got similar media deals. I don't think that will be the case, but I'd be there for the tantrums if it was.

HUGE NEWS!

Does anyone know what is happening with Hawaii? In my opinion, given that Tulane, Memphis, UTSA, USF etc are not coming, the Pac 2 would have been better off with a reverse merger with MWC and just pay the weaker programs/market less. Imagine the MWC six + Hawaii merge with or have a championship game with AAC. From a media market standpoint, you would cover 5 time zones, multiple states, and some large markets.
It was said they’re planning on signing the MOU and stay in the MWC. The PacSun7’s invitation must have been lost in the mail.

The TemuPac12 is going to continue be too arrogant and prideful but they should really be looking to settle and merge or figure out a way to have a championship game between the two conferences/divisions.

This has to be the most lame athletic department. EVER.

They try to go to Big East and are eventually rejected. They try to go to PAC 12 and the PAC 12 basically disbands rather than accept SDSU. They finally pay to go to PAC 2 and the PAC 2 is no better than MWC. Plus SDSU pays $10M-$20M for a lateral move.
There was a swing and miss of the Big12 too. Not sure how public that was. They thought they had a shot and then Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, and Colorado fell in their lap. I think SDSU would have made it into the Pac4 if Cal and Stanford hadn't bolted for the ACC.
