Norvell makes more than BSU's Danielson. ($1.8M vs $1.1M) Think Danielson will take our call? Of course I bet his salary doubles here pretty soon. Triples if they win a playoff game. You guys should 100% poach Jay Norvell from CSU. If for no other reason than the hilarity of it.
Tell your Coug brethren welcome to the G5..
Sorry I mean G6.
That's great news! Logo is well respected and loved in the Polynesian community. Hopefully a few other coaches are getting retained too.Good chance coach logo stays, he’s still making offers
Hope the best for him and his. He’s probably going pro. He’d be a great one for the CFL but I can see him being a specialist for an nfl team as well if he tests well at a pro day.
A lot to unpack there, but from a 30,000 foot view Fox sports is separate from the rest of Disney/ ESPN. Here in the US, the a judge ruled that ESPN and Fox sports together in one entity would be too much of the market share together. In other territories, Disney owns the rights to Fox sports distribution. But I should state that media groups often "partner".Since the merger, does Fox and ESPN still work like separate entities? It certainly seems so, at least with preexisting contracts

Just have to embrace it instead of crying about it like Lincoln Riley was recently.I hope this isn't turning into a New Mexico style blood bath with the number of transfers. No doubt the coaches that are leaving have told the players they will not be staying. Without a question the special teams and defense coach are gone along with many of their players.
Since the merger, does Fox and ESPN still work like separate entities? It certainly seems so, at least with preexisting contractsCBS wasn't considering them; at least not a few weeks ago. Things could have change, but the concern was the lack of return of investment. CBS' offer wouldn't have been anywhere near 14m, but that's more of they don't have the capital free in Q4. The new owner may choose to prop up in Q1 Paramount's film studios than make another investment into NCAA sports; but who knows. I heard of rumors about divesting CBS sports from Paramount.
I could imagine Apple taking them on a loss, just to get more of a footprint in the NCAA.
I 100% agree.Between 8-12 million. If they were getting valuations higher than that I think Memphis would have made the jump last time.
Media deal is the one sticking point for me and UNLV not joining the PAC. An extra 3-5 million (potentially) a year would be nice..
I'll stand by if there is no BIG12 invite then this was mistake long term. If there is then it was the right call.
Not because of conference prestige or whatever. Just dollars and cents of it. You can only go to the booster well so many times. At some point you have to be able to fund projects, hire coaches etc on your own.
Its going to get worse before it gets better. I am fairly confident that Mullen will be able to recruit to a high standard. But it still stings. I liked most of those guys, and would have loved to have seen a deep returning class. Though, some of these guys might not be headed to Purdue. I am sure a few of them were going to move no matter if Odom stayed or not.I hope this isn't turning into a New Mexico style blood bath with the number of transfers. No doubt the coaches that are leaving have told the players they will not be staying. Without a question the special teams and defense coach are gone along with many of their players.
I thought the same thing when I heard Urban praise UNLV's program. You know when we played on Fox for the championship game in Boise, Urban sounded like a guy that was keeping tabs on UNLV.
I thought at the time he was just deferring to the old MWC/Wac days when he was at Colorado State and Utah.
8 guys hit the portal today so far, https://247sports.com/Season/2025-Football/TransferPortal/?institutionkey=24084.
Camac, Correa, Chittenden, St. John... some big losses if they do end up signing somewhere else.

They are running out of options, and their last selection will likely hurt their average payouts from what they have right now.
I have seen a tweet, I didn't have time to grab it, that reported that the PAC is looking at a 14 mil./school deal since using Octogon. I don't buy that until I see it, but it is possible that they were able to add another media partner to sweeten the deal since signing with Octagon. I think they have been only working with the CW and maybe one other (CBS/Fox/Apple) up to this point.
They may try another pass at schools that have already turned them down. My guess they are willing to wait it out to see if anyone changes their mind or finding some other school that won't hurt their bottom line before adding a lower school, especially a FCS school.
A lot of the running stats have to do with Hajj improvising on broken plays which pumped up the numbers. I think half of Marion's playcalls were just **** it, send dudes out on 25 yard patterns and let Hajj figure it out.Our running game was a lot better this year which opens up the passing game. Hajj missed a lot of wide open guys Maiava wouldn't have. It would have been different more TD's and more picks but overall he is better than Hajj.
Now we will have nothing but the football to talk about until the end of the year, then we can talk about who will be the new basketball coach and who he will recruit to UNLV.Agree on all points.
