AJ Cerio has a tweet about Tom Crean being next coach. Does have successful big time experience. He has had so many others stops that have not gone well. If we are going that route, does not Craig Smith look good by comparison?

A coach like him is likely the best we can do.

Asses in seats for an .800+ winning percentage would go a long way towards her hanging out a while longer.

But it’s no longer identify a hidden gem in HS. You can’t compete for HS guys who are ready to contribute either. So you rely on transfers. If they’re impact, they cost a lot. If not, they cost a little bit you only get a year or two.

It’s easier to turnover a roster from crap and find some success, with luck. It’s harder to build a team though, too.

Anyone who can figure it out will last. Without a good NIL, most won’t.

"Anyone who can figure it out will last." They will last as a coach - but they will be plucked away from G5 by one of the 15 P4 programs annually looking for a coach.

As for NIL, there is so much money now for P4 players it's running against a kids self interest to not take it. It would be relatively simple to live extremely large in college and still leave school with $ 200-300 thousand dollars. $ 200 thousand conservatively invested is $ 1.6 million at age 50.

Stanford is struggling at 14-13 this season without Tara Vanderveer. How long can we keep Lindy away from Stanford. I believe that is the only job she would leave UNLV for.

We, need Teagan Colvin. UNLV doesn't have a back-up PG. She, will get more minutes next year as a result of this.
You, guys must be really high on the Israel player Hodaya. I know that she is older than a typical Freshman in college will be.
And, she plays in a pro league in Israel.
I, hope Macy Spencer does not transfer next year.
UNLV, will need that extra tall body in Alexis Swillis, as we don't have anybody 6'1" or taller and she can give a good breather to
Meadow and Brackins.

Early in the season, I read somewhere a Mountain West coach (I think Wyoming BB) complaining that our NIL was the biggest in the Mountain West. Beyond that I have no inside info comparing NIL from Mountain West program to program.

We will have to see but I bet the MWC sees the writing on the wall and will try to keep AFA and UNLV for 1-2 years under the new agreement and not several years as proposed.

Buys the conference time to replace both.

When you say best in MWC does that mean Football or Basketball? Is the NIL fund all one big pot or is it separate for each sport? We could have the largest for football and smallest for basketball.

Plus recruiting is going to get harder and harder for any new coach going from p4 to G5. With the average NIL for P4 in basketball at $ 171,000 vs less than $ 20,000 for G5 it will take some smooth talking to get the players needed to compete nationally. Admittedly, our NIL is the best or nearly the best in the MW, but it's nowhere near what a P4 coach has.
