I think Hicks as the motor and the athleticism to be really good, I just don't think he's been developed properly. His fundamentals, especially on defense are really poor. I personally would stop treating him like a combo guard and figure out how to either improve his handles and distribution OR his outside shooting. I wanted to keep him (and Pape over Bear) because I think those are excellent indicators of the new staff's ability to develop.I agree with the guys you mentioned but Hicks is out of control all the freaking time, maybe Josh can perform some developmental magic but I ain’t holding my breath. This guy has been disappointing to say the least!
I don't ever feel that one is a pattern, Wright did turn into an all ACC player so maybe it's there, just not as prevalent as him getting guards to the NBA.No, he has done it at least once, with Moses Wright.
Roman and Mia, are not Head Coaching material.99% feeling that Lindy's gone and Roman or Mia are not the new leader.
Lindy to Arizona?99% feeling that Lindy's gone and Roman or Mia are not the new leader.
Not me. As soon as I heard “Harvard of the West” I said, “Dammit. Where do I sign up for this?”How many students enrolled at UNLV in the early 90's because of Basketball. I did, my wife did, basically everyone I knew did.
Of course it’s on the player. Kids these days are allowed to be responsible for their successes and failures. How much do we attribute to the player and how much do we attribute to the staff for the lack of development?
“Hicks was a wild player, out of control.” Ok he was here for 2 seasons and we knew that from day one. Yet it doesn’t seem like he was reigned in, lack of system? Drills? Idk if we can pin these things on the player.
I think schools will need to find a way to have players sign contracts so they can keep their services for 2 or 3 years. At least assign a buyout for the player so the school losing his services receives compensation. Make the P5 schools pay through the nose for them
That's the next step.. include buyout or finders feesI think schools will need to find a way to have players sign contracts so they can keep their services for 2 or 3 years. It's getting ridiculous. Soon only big schools will be able to afford players, and schools with big-time donors like BYU. Is there a mega-billionaire or oil sheikh UNLV can go tap?

From the SDUT:
"Dutcher estimated Gwath will command “in excess of $1 million, maybe as high as $1.5 million or $1.7 million” the way the market is trending this spring."
