Pick one of these three.

You take a good DL first, second, and third. Hopefully we find depth on our DL to replace what we are missing.

The rest are replaceable. I like the other two, but more guys can play similar to them than a good DL prospect.

I love DeJesus's attitude and media persona. Feel absolutely terrible for him that he lost his father. I can empathize about how big of a void that causes personally. However, talent-wise, he's third on the list (not that I wouldn't be happy if he stayed. I'd be very happy).

Let’s talk Deion Sanders..

In regards to Sanders.

He was an excellent hire for CU. Injected some life into the program. Motivated boosters. Had a huge impact on attendance. CU's actually relevant for the first time in decades.

Obviously he can recruit and attract high end talent, which covers some of his shortcomings as a HC. I actually don't think he's an awful HC by any means, just not a difference maker when it comes to X's and Os from what I've seen.

Definitely worth the gamble CU took.
Easily a home run hire for CU at the time, and in retrospect a grand slam. There’s just been an outsized amount of hype that isn’t warranted… but that’s what he’s great at and good for them.

Pick one of these three.

Camac… for all the reasons mentioned by others. Grimes would be a solid second choice, but even though DeJesus seems like a player who is “replicable”, I think his combination of tough, smart, and reliable, along with leadership is special. If he doesn’t go down in the first half against Boise in the first game I think there’s a good chance we win that game.

Pick one of these three.

I would honestly love all 3.

Camac feels like the easy choice, mostly because A) he has a ton of potential and really turned it on towards the end of the year last season, and B) we haven't heard much in DL/edge players with the new staff yet, so yeah, a quality player in that position officially on this roster would make ME feel better.

Grimes is an unsung hero of the defense last year. Rarely thrown to, which is a good thing, and I think we felt it when he was out. Again, like Camac, more quality defensive players please.

DeJesus is so versatile. We kinda used him in a Percy Harvin type role last year, and I can see him thrive in that role in this new offense. If Mullen wants to throw 5 WRs out there at times, more quality players the better. JDJ can run good routes, find the zone, and can be electric after the catch. Just don't line him up as a RB anymore please.

Pick one of these three.

Camac. He is exactly the mold of guy Arnett is looking for, and he's set to have a breakout season. We don't have anyone incoming or currently on the roster that replaces what Camac offers.

I might take Catalon over Grimes, but I wouldn't be upset if Grimes came back. Grimes made our other DB's look great because he was never out of coverage/ the guy he was covering was never an option. Vessel and Decambra fill in nicely at the DB spot, so I'm less upset if Camac is in over them.

DeJesus I would love back as a returner. Definitely not mad if comes back, but I think we've got guys committed already that can overtake him.

Pick one of these three.

You get to bring back one of these three players in the portal. (We may get decisions any day from them so this may be a mute point)

DeJesus
Camac
Grimes

I'll go with Camac. I think he fits Arnett's 3-3-5 defense extremely well. Long rangey DE, decent first step. Makes plays in the backfield and is disruptive.

Grimes would be second. Experienced DB who can play CB or SF. A lot of versatility.

Love DeJesus but I think you can find guys that can replicate what he does easier than the two guys above.

Power Ranking

We need change . Regardless on how we finish. If we go on some miracle run it going to be real hard to fire CKK. We are not devoid of talent and the MWC just keeps on getting weaker and weaker. So it not out of the realm of possibilities. I say 10-15% chance we go dancing. When we play Utah St, NM, and Boise St that will give us a real indicator where we are. We play AF tomorrow. We are -7.5 favorites. I could see us drop that game also.
Absolutely no way in hell UNLV ever loses to Air Force! What did you say? Air Force beat UNLV 90-58! You are on drugs, no way in hell is UNLV

that bad! Damn, didn't know that Air Force was as good as the Harlem Globetrotters, I guess that makes UNLV the Washington Generals?

That’s where I think we will finish and it’d be good enough for an NIT and new hiring. IMO.

Open at end of season!

Those not coaching don’t like the NIL system right now because they don’t understand it.

We just need someone that has a better system, a system that’s fun to watch (fans showing up) and can develop guys in a short amount of time. We don’t need a 5 year build nonsense. If we can get a decent NIL program going, someone like Bucky could really light it up in Vegas.
They understand the NIL system, and in the long run it may end up destroying college sports.

I think Harper will be looking at coaches who are not currently coaching. I don’t believe we can afford to pay off a current contract and give the type of contract that will be required. I think we end up with a coach similar to Mullen, a coach that has been successful in the past, but for one reason or another is not currently coaching.
