Alot depends on the outcome of the lawsuits and the media deals. If we can get in front of the Pac in terms of who is providing the contract and the $, the conference will look good. At this point, it's getting pretty late for the Pac to get 8 full members without paying a huge exit fee for someone. If they end up not paying their fees, then we probably move to join the Pac to get them their 8, but they'll offer us assistance to get there. Ultimately I'm not sure what the Pac is doing because they're on a really tight timeline before they cease to exist

The math is a little wonky.
48÷9 is 5.3 per. Not everyone is getting a full share, but I can see that the 2 non football members with the 1 football only lyrics equals out.
Now that number is boosted at about a mil extra per team from the CFP scraps that we get
So I guess this evens out.
But like bull said. If we are getting 6, the PAC will be easily get 10 or even more. I have seen 14 floated as a number after they hired Octagon, which could be where they are per team right now. The next team probably drops that significantly, but it can still be well above 10.
We are getting g 6 not because we have maintained value it is simply inflation.

As you know, UNLV also would be able to transfer to a P4 conference and not pay an exit fee. That also adds into the equation.

Every game we get smoked on boards and leave wide open 3's that make certain guys on the other team look like stars. I only coached as high as junior high school traveling teams and I can see things quickly. Are our coaches just too stubborn to change things up?

Playing in the Big12 would bring in at least another $3-5 million in ticket sales along with a much higher visibility on a national stage including better TV games and a much better bowl game. It would also increase sales of merchandise as well as bring in a much larger amount of corporate sponsorship

That guy Fletcher used that $6 million amount back on Oct 3rd. Two days after we picked up UTEP so there has to be a few more dollars with adding NIU. We will be getting the extra $1.5 - $1.8 per years starting in 2026 for 6 years. Perfect timing as that is when our contract would expire and the B12 contract expires. So even at that nuts $6 million add at least $1.5. Then if you want to break down that $10 million we got upfront over 5 years we will still be looking at close to $10 million per year total. Then we get the B12 invite and we will be sitting pretty without any exit fee. It's worth the gamble.

All we have to do is keeping winning and get into bowl games.

If you get in the Big 12 at a reduced but still reasonable cut, you take it. Your stadium would sell out almost every game.

UNLV's decision was a gamble from a city of gambling. I would have done the same thing. Just win, be entertaining, market, and schedule the best you can.

From an outsider standpoint, public actions by both WSU and BSU hurt the public perception of them. As I said before, of the Pac MWC whatever, UNLV positioned itself as having the best shot to move up to a P whatever conference. However, it does not guarantee that it will happen. In other words, while others bet on the Pac whatever, UNLV tripled down on itself.

Yes IF it happens, I have my doubts. If that was happening near term Odom would be more likely to stay and us more likely to give him $6MM. I think we will look back on this as a huge blunder the Big 12 certainly doesn’t look anxious to add more teams and even if we do our cut will probably be little above as we get now for several years.

I like this ad seems like a low risk high reward situation which is perfect for us Ns he definitely has some size to him.

It's not about registering numbers... They still get ad dollars for those slots. That's ad revenue they weren't getting previously

Thats a given. My greater point was did UNLV potentially turn down a better long term investment vs quick cash up front. It's one thing to be getting hammered on TV revenue by P4 schools. It's completely different thing to be potentially getting doubled up by other G6 schools.
