Yep. Heard the same thing. #1 call but we got coat tailed by UNR.

Im a nobody when it comes to UNLV leadership, but I have some connections with state leadership. This is what I was told. We'll see if true. About what I'd expect though from our state leadership

Pac fine waiting us out because they do not want UNR, and do not believe the Big12 is interested in us. So time is on their side. Take it for what it's worth. That said I think the UNLV 'exclusion' had more to do with exit fees than anything else. Still think they are in the mix.

Bronco Fan/Donor here and keep your heads up. The PAC will more than likely go 9 teams. You guys are not dead in the water.

oklahoma left Oklahoma state in the wind with the SEC move, even when Oklahoma legislature had rules/law it. They just left.

Apparently board of regents see it differently

This isn't about going to a better conference. The new conference will still be a G5 conference.

This is about not staying with a conference that is destined to descend to the depths of mediocrity. Right now, the MWC will need to back fill 4 teams that are considerably lower in desirability. ( If AF leaves and takes one other we will need 6 teams ) Most likely we will add some bottom feeding FBS teams and some FCS teams.

Our TV revenue will crater and it will be nearly impossible to maintain what we have.

The new conference would give us a chance to stay at least at our current level and have a fighting chance to perhaps move up. Staying with the MW almost guarantees we'll have zero chance to move up when an opportunity presents itself.

You walk up to a lake and two people are drowning. There is only one life preserver to throw so you can save only one person. The Nevada regents are in favor of being fair, not throwing the life preserver to either of them and letting them both drown.

That makes no sense. The PAC is helping pay off if not completely paying off the exit fees. Even if you prorate the payback. Doubling or tripling media revenue is worth taking in the initial costs anyway.
