Where we are at.

Here is the reality. UNLV was call #1 from the Pac. UNLV Leadership onboard. Regents said no unless UNR included, as many have said. It's a travesty. Pac fine waiting us out because they do not want UNR, and do not believe the Big12 is interested in us. So time is on their side. Take it for what it's worth. Our state leadership screwed this up in a major way. The pac wanting to wait for exit fees talk is somewhat true, but it wasnt going to apply to UNLV. They would have held out on Fresno or CSU.
The regents are idiots if this is true.

Pac-12 Rebuild Update...

This is from Dellenger.

"However, politics are at play. According to those with knowledge of the discussions, separating the two — the University of Nevada and UNLV — is a hurdle. It doesn’t mean it cannot be done. And, perhaps at a later date, they could eventually move together to the Pac-12. Or the hurdle is crossed and UNLV moves alone?"

Pac-12 Rebuild Update...

UNLV was not in the initial discussions.

But
From what I understand SDSU turned down Big12 original offer. I want to say it had to do with the lower revenue/TV share they would receive.

If UNLV gets same offer you 100% take that offer.
SDSU did not turn down Big12.

Bronco Fan/Donor here and keep your heads up. The PAC will more than likely go 9 teams. You guys are not dead in the water.
There will be more discussions and movement in the next 90 days.

Where we are at.

This isn't about going to a better conference. The new conference will still be a G5 conference.

This is about not staying with a conference that is destined to descend to the depths of mediocrity. Right now, the MWC will need to back fill 4 teams that are considerably lower in desirability. ( If AF leaves and takes one other we will need 6 teams ) Most likely we will add some bottom feeding FBS teams and some FCS teams.

Our TV revenue will crater and it will be nearly impossible to maintain what we have.

The new conference would give us a chance to stay at least at our current level and have a fighting chance to perhaps move up. Staying with the MW almost guarantees we'll have zero chance to move up when an opportunity presents itself.

Pac-12 Rebuild Update...

He's saying neither school has the money...
That only works if the conference doesn't implode over the next year, it only will take 1 more program jumping elsewhere to do it... After that it's free game.
Doesn't have the money?

That makes no sense. The PAC is helping pay off if not completely paying off the exit fees. Even if you prorate the payback. Doubling or tripling media revenue is worth taking in the initial costs anyway.

Its BS.
