That alone just dumped the rest of the MWC/Pac in the dust of UNLV football when it comes to recruiting!Dan Mullen takes UNLV job: Former Florida, Mississippi State coach enticed by NIL commitment
The former Florida and Mississippi State coach has been out of coaching for the last three seasonswww.cbssports.com
"The two sides were in active discussions late Wednesday night, with the deal being finalized Thursday morning, sources familiar with the situation said. UNLV was able to entice Mullen with an increased name, image and likeness budget in addition to revenue-sharing payments for players starting next season.
UNLV is a member of the Mountain West and is not legally obligated to participate in the upcoming revenue-sharing model that will be enforced within the four power conferences beginning as early as July 1, but the Group of Five school is prepared to pay players via a smaller revenue sharing model, a source briefed on the discussions.. In addition, the NIL payments outside the revenue-sharing model is expected to more than double to a total of several million dollars."
I say $5 for 5I’ll go 3.8-4.2 million increasing over 5 years
He has truly done a tremendous job! Hope that he gets rewarded for all of his hard work and foresight.Harper is the man...he seems relatively humble in comparison to other AD's after the Odom success. Many would be walking around campus roping cattle with their hog after that. He seemed more focused on keeping him than pounding his chest. Now he has two reasons to do it.
more than doubling. This CBS article makes it sound like the NIL pool will increase by quite a bit

This CBS article makes it sound like the NIL pool will increase by quite a bitQuestion is how much NIL money is out there? i dont think we will be in the 25 ,but TOP 40-50 i can live with. Talent evaluation is the key.
That’s a huge buyout3.5 million, 250k bonus for conference championship, 250k for CFP.. increase over 5 yrs, 15 million buyout
If he wants to come back and it became an issue, he can also fire said agent if necessary too!He recently hired an NIL agent. It might not be his "choice."
Crazy thing is if his HYPE matches results or close to it it only gets better from here. This right here! NIL is the most important factor in success these days. It far outweighs things like facilities and locker rooms. I don't necessarily like it but it's the way it is. I don't think Dan Mullen would come here unless he knew nil would be an advantage
And Alexander, Hunky, S/C Coach, Shivest and OL coach!I hope he retains Scherer . Could help keep some of the recruits that make the CUT. LOL! Plus i think he did a great job overall.
He’s leaving, not going to risk an injury prior to his next stop.Did there QB leave Cal, or like many of the UNLV players who said they would play in the bowl game?

That was going to happen regardless on who our HC was. Hopefully the NIL money will compete with the other suitors. Being a local d and having a Bigger name HC (sorry Odom)maybe he stays. Unless we can upgrade from him. I think he has a chance to be special. He recently hired an NIL agent. It might not be his "choice."
My first thoughts on recruiting were Grimes, Burrell and the DE high school guy…I wonder if this changes Burrell's mind? It should.
