When you set back and reflect on what has happened over the last month so with the PAC 2 it’s no surprise that it all ended for the PAC 12. Their leadership is very questionable. First, the total settlement with the departing schools left OSU and WSU flush with approximately $255 mill to split between them. Any university can do a lot with an approximately $120 mill plus in a windfall to their athletic department. So instead of the reverse merger and using the funds to strengthen their own athletic departments, they raid the MWC in an attempt to break it up. But they failed. So instead of a reverse merger and requiring new members to make significant infrastructure improvements and mandatory minimum athletic department budgets, they don’t even invite the top 4 programs and then out of desperation they offer USU (who has to pay its own exit fee). So now the PAC owes the MWC (their competitors) approximately $90 mill in exits fees and potentially another $45 mill in poaching penalties. Thats a truely remarkable turn of events. Now the MWC can use the PAC 2’s money to strengthen it’s athletic programs

Defensively, kinda similar, Fresno might be better?

There are a couple of players that I was expecting to have a much bigger statistical impact for the UNLV football team this year that I haven't heard too much about. Any insights from those of you that are paying closer attention?

1. Tony Grimes - I know he's seen game action, but I guess I didn't pay too much attention to who was in the game at different times. I was looking at the stats and Grimes has had very few recordable stats. It's listed that he has 0 tackles or interceptions, and only 1 pass defended on the season. Has he not been getting a lot of playing time, or are teams just not throwing his way very much?

2. Casey Cain - I expected that he was going to be a much bigger target for the Rebels this season, with many defenses focusing on both RW3 and De Jesus, but he only has 1 reception on the season. Did Bradley pass him up on the depth chart? Or maybe it's just due to the lack of passing game prior to HMW getting the start. RW3 has 20 catches, De Jesus 7, and no one else with more than 3, so maybe it's just the lack of passing overall.

3. Ballungay - Similar situation to Cain. That TD that he got last game vs. FSU was scary with that ball floated up in the air for what seemed like about 10 seconds, but even with that, he only has 3 receptions this year. After the way he finished the season last year, I thought he'd get more looks this season.

Got give this man his props. First, he is a magician with the option game. Keeps his eyes downfield, makes great reads with perfect spacing when turning the corner with a pitch man present. He has good feet and wiggle to his game that makes him tough to defend.
Not as aggressive of a runner but he is slippery and doesn't take hard hits. He also knows how to slide.
And that is just the run game, which we thought would be better with Sluka.
Hajj throws a pretty ball and his option skills makes the RPO way more dangerous. And being able to hit on our medium passing game is also huge.
We are so much tougher to defend now, and we saw this multiple threat offense open up our traditional running game too. Can't just stack the box anymore.
Due to the defense and the big lead his numbers weren't crazy as a passer, but you can tell he could put up big numbers if we find ourselves in a shootout.
Also special shout out to Catalon. This guy didn't get nearly enough pub in the off-season. I know he had been injured, but dude was first team all SEC and we are seeing why. People that knew him from The SEC days say he is playing better than ever. He may just be our first draft pick, yes even over Ricky, in the spring.

Need some guidance. My Cox-provided internet consistently goes out for brief periods (eg, 10 seconds) thru-out the day. Cox says I need to upgrade to fiber (at no charge). The 3rd party Cox contractor comes out and says it’s a no-go bc the fiber connects to the traditional telephone line and the line in my home is old (a level 3 not 5??). Long story short, apparently I can’t add fiber but the traditional cable-based internet is continually spotty (which ironically didn’t start happening until Cox began pushing the switch to fiber). Am I being fed a load of BS? Are there any viable alternatives to Cox? (Which really should be spelled Cocks bc they flat-out suck)

Did anyone see this morning's interview between the JRJ and Erick Harper and Keith Whitfield. I think that overall its a great article, but one thing in particular caught my eye. I'll quote directly from the article. RJ: How realistic is an eventual Power Four bid for UNLV, and do you believe you are better positoned for that now than two weeks ago? From what I can read it appears that the UNILV had nearly 2 million to spend for a calendar year as of late last year or early this year (all the athletic programs). That was prior to all of the football team success from this year. I have also noticed that the post they show on Facebook, twitter, etc. have sponsorships shown on the post. An example is the most current post have been sponsored on twitter/facebook by Shook & Stone. My expectation is this will become more common and will include money going to the athlete shown in the post. I expect you will start seeing defense player of the week, special team player of the week, etc... also include cash to the player that the post shows.

And yes, that will also include kickers!!!!

From what I am reading and the cryptic way that Odom is speaking, I believe the NIL funding is well beyond what most people expected was available at UNLV. I didn't expect that the funding was currently in the millions and increasing!

I'm not super interested in conference BS. I'm more worried about gameday.
