Zebra’s took over this game

It's common for the away team to bring the refs and the replay booth refs are from the home team conference
Oh… I didn’t know that.

Yes, you can’t entirely blame the refs as the team has to make the plays. The potential interceptions, Catalon’s missed tackle on 4th and 1, etc.

But there were a multitude of awful calls in this game that went against the Rebels. Not crying about it, just stating a fact.

Things have a way of evening up. I’m sure down the road UNLV will benefit from a bad call or two. Hopefully, that happens in a playoff game 😊

Day after….

We did sit 3 rows back in enemy territory (thanks Rebel-Luv!), but I will say that not all of their fans were insufferable POS. The majority were just regular people - and we had a nice convo with a couple ladies behind us.

And believe me, they KNOW they got lucky to escape with a win. Many stated so after the game.

Ok how close was I in describing that buffoon. ?

I go to a fair amount of UNLV away games. I always try and target the dudes around me that I know are going to talk smack and likely be aggressive.

I would absolutely assume he would be that guy just looking at him.

I kid you not for the Ohio State game I sat next to that guys doppelganger.

Before kickoff he says ' You ready for some BIG10 big boy football'..

I said 'Man I have no delusions of what's about to happen.' 'I m just here to support my team and happy about a trip to see one of the Cathedral of college football stadiums'.

First play for UNLV we get sacked. He jumps all in my grill 'Welcome to BIG 10 FOOTBALL!'

I said buddy it's probably going to happen another 10 times you can get it all out now.

Next series same thing starts waving his flag around me doing the big brother I'm not touching you but I'm 100% being an ass.

Lasted till third quarter before the 9 White Claws kicked in and he stumbled to the bathroom never to return.

PAC….terrible leadership!

I looked at this schedule and had a hard time just chalking up a lot of 'obvious' wins. Front half like you said loaded.

CFP playoff was/is obviously still in play. But it would likely require beating Boise State 2x.

Still three tough games left on the schedule. OSU, SJSU and Boise. SJSU has given Rebs a lot of trouble. Last year it was a one score game but SJSU controlled majority of it.
Everything still in play and every game means more. One game at a time.

That guy 100% has a t-shirt with cut off sleeves under his jersey professing how much he loves boobs and beer.

He 100% rage posts on their boards about everything. Lots of exclamation points and capitalized words to make sure you know just how mad he is...

I'd bet a thousand bucks on it.
Don’t forget his team has gotten jobbed by the refs in every loss since 1973.

Yeah that was a BS call. Contrast that to the no call in 2018 on the USC hit (link below, scroll down to see the hit) on Gardner Minshew. No targeting, no roughing. Cost us the game.

I remember watching that game. How that didn't draw a penalty is beyond me. 1st guy clean. Second guy? Holy crap he did all the things, was late, launched himself, helmet to helmet. You name it he did it.

Syracuse ticket sales

It was as loud as I have heard for Rebels game including Boise last year.

I hate to venture a guess at Syracuse contingent. 5k? Maybe 6k? It was pretty significant.

Agree on the Pro sports thing. The Aces drew 10k last night for playoff game. If there's no Aces game you maybe draw another 2k maybe 3k of that.

Transient fans and years of bad results. People are slow to jump on the wagon vs VGK that had a horrific tragedy that created a bond with the city and instant success bolstered that. Plus being first major franchise.
I will take it at least as a place to start if they could add 5K to that we would be in a good place.

I could be wrong here but I feel like you'd get 3-5k more fans in if they opened up more of the upper sections at lower prices. A lot of people are interested but don't have it in their budget to spend 60-100 per ticket. I get it that you'd rather fill the lower bowl, but IMO, once you get people to their 1st game, it's easier to get them back regularly. I know for me, I was worried about parking, traffic, etc the 1st time. Now that I've done it multiple times, its no big deal

I think what's more obvious is last year wasn't just a fluke vs semi weak schedule. We just went 4-1 in first 5 vs 3 P4 schools, lost 1 that could be competing in ACC title game, and dominated the next best team in the conference... we have an incredibly tough front end schedule and should be at worse 6-2 entering the back end...

They were probably in the tank, probably from the syracusfan board.

* Getting the ball at the 35 with 27 seconds and 3 TOs and taking a knee is super cowardly under normal circumstances, but with our defense all on oxygen just giving them an extra 5 minutes of rest trying to get a field goal seems like the right call. We never would have made that call last year, so I'm not sure why we did here--but coaches are human and can make mistakes.
Agreed. I just think it was such a high intensity game that the coaches were fatigued mentally, just needed more time to make the calls, but then again that is what those timeouts are for and you bring up a good point that even if you failed, the defense gets an extra 5-10 minutes to rest.

Again it never works. I remember the Denver Broncos pulling that with their best offense ever in nfl history, and the Ravens ended up winning the playoff game and winning the Super Bowl down the line.
