Odom leaving for WVU?

Glad you brought up Cignetti.

The Indiana job is a tough one and look what he's done there.

There's no reason Odom couldn't flip a WVU around.

That's been my point all along.

Coaches are going to take jobs that are a good fit for them. But they all believe their 'system' will work.

Again I don't think this rumor has any legs at all. Oddly the WVU fan base appears to absolutely hate the idea of it. Some even would rather have Rich Rod back..
Get on the phone with Rich Rod's agent...

Odom leaving for WVU?

Take a look at it this way... If youre trying to talk silly money only offer... Does Odom take the job for a 2x pay bump- so roughly 4 million? IDK considering if we are being serious about extensions with our new cash flow were probably looking at a 3-3.5 range...
WVU is currently paying their coach 4 million, if you talk silly money then they offer 3x Odom's current salary- so 5.5-6 million, that'd put him pay wise on par with the top 4 paid coaches in the Big 12, and Im not saying a Big 12 school cant afford it, but thats a steep price to pay along with any buyouts on both sides. For record- last years top G5 coaches (Cignetti and Fritz) are currently making around the 4.5 million dollar mark...

Injuries/Mia

Henley - 1 month ( in a boot at the game)
Whiting - Game time decision? ( in a boot at the game)
Whaley - Back injury that has nagged him since before the season.
Evans - Has had fewer sightings than Bigfoot.

If things don't look better than they did in the last 1/2 of the Pepperdine game we are in for some lopsided losses to ranked opponents or other even decent opponents. I see us losing bad to Miss State, Creighton and Dayton. Another possible loss could be New Mexico State. ( They suck but so do we). We'll be in a position where we'll need to win the MWC Tournament again. UGH.

Odom leaving for WVU?

I think he'd be more likely to take the FSU job.
Maybe, and he may prefer being a college coach. Would make a pretty penny there as well.

But there is no franchise in sports that is talked about more than the Dallas Cowboys. Deion likes to be talked about.

The only drawback is Jerry Jones and the amount of control he seems to require.

Pepperdine

It was obvious that they also put in the bench once the game was out of reach.
We only had 9 scholarship players available That's not really putting in the bench.. We saw 1 walk-on Yap's brother. Otherwise it was mostly the same rotation Kruger has used, with maybe Cotrell getting some extended minutes late.. We took our foot off the gas and we shouldnt have. Sorry, but even up by a lot, the team isnt good enough to think it can just throw the ball around and play lackadaisical defense. Maybe if they were constantly blowing teams out, then fine, but this team suffers from periods much like Kruger's other teams where they lose focus and lose leads. Teams arent just going to stop playing hard because were up by 15 with 5 to go.. It may sound stupid to say, but a closer win matters in RPI and net rankings. It also sends a message that we stay focused and play disciplined no matter how big the lead is, right up until we start putting in 3 or 4 walk ons...

Odom leaving for WVU?

Deion would say yes; so long as he can draft Shedeur.
Well, they just paid Dak 240 mil, so...

I don't think Deion would "Lebron" this situations to force a family member on his team, at least not the Cowboys.

In a lot of ways it is his dream job. He played there. He knows that (unfortunately) the Cowboys always have all the attention just because of the brand. It is just like the Buffs in a way.
