OT: Hypocrisy in politics

I think he is so over-the-top he drives certain crazy people over the edge.
Drives the KARENS ,WOKE and/or weak minded Liberals crazy. You have to be emotionally unstable to get offended by his rhetoric that you would literally vote for Kamala and what she brings and does not bring to the table. Yea F over America and America values ,because you are so easily offended. Make it make sense! Kamala is inept as CMM was! Plus is dumb as hell!

OT: Hypocrisy in politics

It went from accusing Haitians of eating dogs and cats to accusing them eating ducks and geese to then only admitting animal sacrifice is part of Haitian voodoo culture and we can't have that happening here to Vance now admitting “to create stories so that the … media actually pays attention to the suffering of the American people” which only happened after some lady who started all these rumors came out and said she made it up and didn't expect it to get this far/bad.

Vance “This problem [Haitians in Springfield] is so bad, I had to lie about how bad it is to get people to pay attention to it. Because if I talked about the actual problem without lying, people would think it didn’t actually sound that bad. That’s how bad it is.”

And then in the same interview Vance goes on to lie some more and call the Haitians illegal immigrants even though they are here legally through some protection order that Trump himself renewed in 2017. AND Vance knows they are here legally because he was just doing another interview where he argued for why Trump renewed their status while he was president.

Then you have the Republican Governor of Ohio coming out and saying it's not happening and that's coming from direct reports and conversations with the mayor and police chief of Springfield. He also goes on to emphasize the Haitians that were brought here legally under the protection order have been a positive for the Springfield/Ohio economy... And it's not even an anti-trump thing because at the end he says despite all this he thinks Trump will be better for the US economy and wants people to vote for him.

It would be nice to put the whole dog/cat eating thing to rest and actually focus on the nuances of immigration policy and the effects policies have on places where immigrants are placed and how to address those issues (because it does create issues and strain on communities and even if Hatians have been good economically that's still a lot of change for a smaller town and problems are going to arise).
They are here Legally, but u failed to mentioned they are being flowned in 500,000 of them directly or by proxy by the US Government ! That was not the intent ! That is why Cubans when they try so hard to get to land ,because once they reach land they can claim asylum. Coast guard tries to arrest them as they scramble off their boat to touch land. No HELP!!! NO WAY THEY HAVE BEEN A POSITIVE FOR THE COMMUNITY ! THEY were brought in to change elections. 90% of immigrants vote BLUE! THEY ARE not doing out of their goodness of the heart! Almost all looking for handouts. They are being strategically placed thru out the US. No way you should be able to come here and get free housing, food and health care. We have US citizens to take care of first! IT a free for all. That is also why housing is so unaffordable. Taking up all the rentals and mortgages. Majority of it being paid by the USA! CUT OUT ALL THE FREE STUFF and deport all the illegals and immigration legal and illegal would be reduced dramatically. This is not sustainable!

OT: OFF TOPIC Ricky White III

Ricky could have left us for p4 payday. He was betting another big stat year would help his draft status. Horrible qb throwing has his year in flames. He should be upset. Not so sure friel shouldn't be in there. Teams will stack the box against us until we prove we can throw and catch.

Ricky had an uncharacteristic drop on a potentially huge gain. There was another play he cut route off. Not sure if it was miscommunication with QB or not on an option route. No way bashing Ricky, he's our #1 weapon. But stuff happens.

DeJesus had a drop on sure TD as well early in game.

Sluka hasn't been great but not all on him either.

Odom referenced drops in postgame presser.

UNLV hasn't needed to pass in the 2nd half of two games.

KU has 2 CBs that are likely NFL draft picks.

Rebs have faced two of the better defenses they will see this season.

UH and KU both top 30.

No, but being a consistently ranked team does... we've never experienced what a ranked UNLV football team would do for attendance... year over year...
Closest we've come recently was basketball under Rice and the Mack still had pretty decent attendance even against mediocre teams back then...

Fair..

I guess I'm thinking a bit like mid major basketball scenario.

Hey we went 27-3 in regular season!

And lost to South Western Kentucky Tech in conference tournament and didn't get an invite.

It's harder and harder the lower 'prestige' your conference has.

It almost puts you in a scenario where 1 loss season is over type position.

Liberty great story. They lose one game. After thought.

New PAC.

A team like Boise if they go 11-1 with a tough road loss to a P5 school they probably get the nod over an Undefeated CUSA team.

I understand your point. Not totally disagreeing with it.

Only toiling in the CUSA or AAC or some new MWC could really set you back financially.

Winning cures a lot. No doubt. But attendance matters and I don't think a home slate of

1 P5
1 FCS
And

Sam Houston State, Sw Missouri, UTEP, LA Tech, Reno and UNM is going to excite anyone regardless of how well UNLV is playing.

(Just throwing out names of left over CUSA/AAC schools)

Not likely but you never know. Our programs get better by winning. You think Liberty cares that thet got smoked last year... no, but they got paid and elevated their profile. Let's say we stay put and win 3 or 4 straight conference titles, win basketball, win women's basketball... Big 12 decides it's time to expand... bam...
Look, it's not ideal any of this.. but there is an incredible opportunity that we have over any other G5 left to still be able to have a good aggressive schedule out of conference and then run the conference table... Teams want to play in Vegas or against Vegas...

I know we all hate Graney equally but here is an article with quotes from former UNLV AD Livengood and MWC Commish Thompson.

Super Powers? How exactly? You think next MWC deal will exceed current one?

Sure better than CUSA and possibly AAC but PAC deal will be better and we'll be trying to match them with less money.

Staggering amount of money.

Kinda makes you think 'If I hear one word about budget shortfalls and you just got 1.8 million for simply existing, you are fired'.
It's crazy money but it's table scraps the P4 schools are giving us just to shut us up. The former AAC Commish Aresco was pissed and tried to get them to redistribute the wealth more equitably but he was out voted. But, I get your point.

Snooty Predators

Even more treachery.

I don't know man.

I mean you are trying to build the best most viable conference possible and you are going to shut out a school many people think is a no brainer over some petty grievance?

And all 5 other schools involved who also are attempting to create the best conference possible agreed to box out that school as well?

Unlv & Air Force in contact w/AAC

He/she is not exactly wrong. You don't have to get into the CFP to make money. If you just look at the current 24/25 football season each G5 school will make about 1.8 million guaranteed from the CFP so adding the current media contract 7 million you get the 8.8 million. Once all those AAC teams leave then we are in a whole new ball game since they may lose their media contract 7 million.

So, just know that the CFP is going to pay us that money just for being a G5 school. Now the money the P4 and Notre Dame get is a whole other thing. I believe I read Notre Dame will get 12 million. And, that is for not even getting to the playoffs. The G5 schools really get crapped on with just 1.8 million

This year, if we get to a CFP semi final game we could get an additional 6 million I believe.

Is it all G5 get cut or that conference?

Unlv & Air Force in contact w/AAC

"With the CFP"
What does that mean?
You can't factor in getting into the CFP for the annual contract. You gotta get there first buddy.
Legacy schools keep their 7 mil for now, the newest members are getting less, with a promise to even out eventually.
You aren't getting 7 mil again after you lose your 4 best teams/markets. Even less if you get poached again.
