Oh I’m sure that number is BS, but so have been all the other numbers. Bottom line is attendance continues to grow.
Exactly. Last year we barely cracked over 20k for Bryant. Of course not all 20k were in attendance but that’s not how these things are tracked.

Bringing 5k more to an FCS season opening home game compared to last year is a big deal and is progress. Of course not where we want it to be, but keep winning this year and see what happens.

Possible Linebacker Trouble

No chance, in my opinion. He did get 2 total tackles and one TFL against Utah Tech but it was in garbage time, so to speak. I just don't know if coach will throw him in in possibly our hardest game of the year against B12 bodies.
He’s also not playing inside linebacker either. Using him more as an edge rusher.

So what do we think??

Why is this even a real question... the P4 is the only way to go period. There is no in future in G5. Eventually the P4s close rank and become their own league/association and if you're not in that group, you're not going to have financial viability.
Seems absolute, Masked. Are you sure? What happens if the MWC make their own Power conference? The missives like Boise UNLV, SDSU, SJSU, Fresno made a pitch to the power be like Amazon or ESPN or TNT? You see now?

So what do we think??

Would UNLV be better off in a P4 or competing for a playoff spot as a G5? Certainly the $$ would be better in a P4, but if UNLV cannot legitimately compete in P4 we’d never sniff the playoffs. Would UNLV continue to climb the rankings in a P4 and put us in legitimate contention? No question the school/city oozes potential, but enough?

I call B.S. on on the 24,500. The lower bowl seats approx. 30,000. At least 1/3 of the West side was unfilled plus 1/4 of the East and 1/3 of the North end zone. Also we lose several thousand seats for the unfilled grass entry area in the south end. Real attendance, around 20,000. On the upside - best student attendance I've seen. Without the student attendance would have been in the mid-to-high teens.

Kool Aid

I said before the season the offense is going to look a lot different.

Much more run heavy.

Don't get me wrong, I think there's room to improve in the passing game, but I don't think the passing game is where this team is hitching it's wagon this year.

Expect more of same.

Run the ball.

Sluka converting 3rd and 5 plus with his legs.

Sluka having success with chunk throws downfield in pass game.

What you won't see is him putting the ball up 30 plus times a game unless absolutely necessary..

Expect a lot of

10 for 16 160 yard through the air with 50+ yards on the ground.

As long he hits on the throws downfield when they are there, offense should put up plenty of points.
I am cool with that. Love to see some long balls to Ricky White and Jacob DeJesus down the sideline once per game at least, though.
As long as UNLV win. Just win anyhow you can.

Kool Aid

That is what I think as well 9-3 and as you said that would be great. That said, if the offense improves is 10-2 out of the question? Probably not. Which could be playoffs. But there is a lot of football to go and even more question marks and though I don’t believe they make the playoffs it isn’t 100% out of the question either. I think we are pretty close to BSU in that regard.

Boise versus Oregon

Six games between us and BSU. The cry for Nelson is getting louder in Boise. I mean, he's had his camp from the beginning, but it's growing. Callers were bitching up a storm on the post-game call-in show. There's no denying Malachi's arm talent. He's also taller than the sub-6ft Madsen. That well-known shorty, Kellen Moore, always used to say he didn't have to see over the lineman, just between them. Madsen isn't that good at that, and it shows. Malachi just needs to get command of the offense, and he very well may by the time the Broncos come to town. Madsen may still be the starter then, but I wouldn't count on it.
Sound like a zoo over there in Boise. It wasn't Madsen play that cost them the Oregon game. It was coaches. Madsen is solid. If he wants to transfer to UNLV...I would love it.
