Line ‘em up: Predictions and Game Thread Boise - FS1 at 7:30

Our guys look shorter than their listed heights. Also, except for Bear, our guys are slight and skinny. No wonder we get destroyed on boards every game. Seems we need to play with 2 big guys at once as you cannot rely on outshooting the other team by enough to withstand the extra possessions we give up.

It will not make a bad team good, but 2 big guys at once should slow the bleeding.

Jealous much?

We are out here landing 4* dudes from LSU and ASU named De'Lunktavious Judkins with ankle monitors and you're hoping to land dudes from South Dakota named Jimmy Chitwood.
You suck Bull. I bet that's not even your dog. You probably have a Shitsu or Pekinese.

That said, I have to link the "24/7" WSU fan site below (hope I'm not violating any rules, my Rivals site has none as we have no moderator). Article after article (most of them "premium", but you can read a paragraph or two in each), trumpeting our incoming coaches (NONE of the first six have ANY FBS experience - 7 including our HC) and our 10-14 transfers from SDSU. To date I don't believe that WSU has ANY FBS transfers in. Plenty of outs.

Kind of a side note: Our best RB left us for the Utes. Luckily we have 2 decent young RB's left who had meaningful game time this year. But wait, he have hired SDSU's RB coach and guess what? He's bringing 3 RB's with him!

And my Board? Well let's see, today we (not me) are still arguing over COVID vaxxing ala Rolovich's firing 3 years ago. And a thread about how SDSU would have kicked our ass this year. From posters that I can pretty much guarantee have never watched an SDSU game.

So yes I am jealous. Now hurry up and reverse course and join the Pac-7.

Oh, and regarding Ramen - I cook with Ramen. Step one is to throw out the salt-laden spice packet. I make it to go with the Asian dishes I prepare when I am bored with brown rice.

Tacos??? The Taco stand( not actual taco stand) has some good cali burritos. Tacoman, and Buenos dias has some really good tacos. As for wings?? Boston pizza, Hamburger Hut, Lit Wings, Johnny macs and

I liked the tacostand. I'll have to try out Tacoman and Buenos Dias. I haven't had Boston pizza wings (though the pizza was pretty good), Hamburger hut, or Lit Wings. Johnny Mac's was good, but its on the opposite side of town for me.

Official : NIU to the Mountain West

I don't recall if we ever discussed this aspect of NIU to the MWC. Mostly, it never occurred to me that MAC Nation considered NIU a part of the #3 media market of Chicago. They aren't even in Chicago. I think maybe about 60 miles away.

"The MAC will also lose the Chicago media market (#3 in the country behind Los Angeles and New York) and the Central time zone with NIU’s departure— both extremely valuable assets in any future media deal."

It's a good read on how this sports journalist describes the loss of NIU to the MAC. Interesting also that NIU had a losing history similar to us and overcame that. If you have a minute click on that link in the article that talks about the "1998 Streak Buster game".

Technically UNLV isn't in the City of Las Vegas either, but being in the metro area is really the same thing! I still expect the MWC will go after at least one more team back east. Curious to see how much NIU will help with the future media deal?

and its not just losing current paying fans directly.. Students who will be alumni aren't likely to have good memories of the basketball program and so even if the program hires a good coach and starts winning, those fans might not invest in season tickets for their family. They arent donating the the athletic fund, etc.. Winning cures some things, but long term fan support is going to need to have alot of work to rebuild what has been lost in the past 12 years.
i dont think too much. Just a commitment by UNLV. They hire a Will Wade or maybe Bob Huggins(71 years old) and i think it would reenergize the fan base instantly . Vegas will never and has never supported not winning. Way too many things to do.

"But if you snapshot crowds, interest … in spite of records and such, there’s a monumental difference."

You lose 750 fans to apathy. Doesn't sound like much until you lose 750 fans a year for 10 years. 7500 is about the difference from what we have now to what we had then.
