Rare for you to pick UNLV over any team by this many points! I will take this week off after the crappy guess I made on the last game!48-24
Anyone else can't wait for this game? I need this bad taste out of my mouth!
I have saved alot of money not taking days off to watch this mediocre basketball the last several years. I work swing and on tips. So thats the only positive thing i seens in MBB the last 5 plus years. That and DJ signing with us. I heard his brother might be following in his footsteps. Dont quote me, but a reliable source. \It is a defeatist attitude. But they’ve given fans zero to hold onto.
Face it, in terms of (basketball) excitement, attendance, achievement, we are at our lowest continual stretch and still surviving as an athletic department. They don’t HAVE to commit to basketball. They don’t HAVE to pump money into it. If they don’t, who is going to complain? There are very few left. From a nostalgic/historic standpoint, it’s terrible to think about but the past isn’t recent history, it’s ancient history, but most of those from the past are no longer there, no longer interested. It’s a new day, the new history is we aren’t anything but a mediocre program with little fanfare and low expectations. We can meet those demands easily, it’s bare bone minimums.
The crossing of the fingers and allowing for potential “slow growth” to materialize has led to a slow death.
They’ll pop up now and again and grab that 13 seed like most other schools in our conference have done from time to time. And if UNLV wants that to be good enough, it will be good enough.
Soon we will be a one/two bid conference. I don’t see a reason to pump in 2.5M per year for that opportunity. A lot of money for a bad schedule and 3 days in March. The money is better allocated into football. It’s hot, that’s the right time to strike it.
I’d give a two year extension at the same salary for hoops and divert all monies to football.
Take two aspirin and see me in the morning...In my mind, we have already beaten BSU twice and play Tennessee in the CFP where we killed them by 76 pts.
In my mind, we have already beaten BSU twice and play Tennessee in the CFP where we killed them by 76 pts.Just to be clear, the TEAM needs to take it one game at a time. As fans, it is our privilege; nay, our duty, to look ahead, speculate and make ridiculous wild predictions. We too can become regular fans. We just aren’t used to it.
No, they brought a few thousand. Clemson, FSU, UNC, Va Tech all would have brought 10k-15k plusYou want to reevaluate that?
Cuse traveled well.
Sounds about right. The Utah State and Oregon State games are going to determine how the line does or doesn't change over the next two weeks.I saw BSU -3 for a spread
I saw BSU -3 for a spreadAs a side note, the UNLV v Boise State game only has around 2500 tickets left in the 100 level, and that game isn't for another 15 days.

They don't play another particularly good team after us. at SJSU and vs Oregon State are the toughest two remaining. But they will have to win the MWC championship to get that spot. Unless they get high enough to hit an at large, and I have a hard time imagining they will be in the top5, which is where they will need to be to lose a game at the end of the year and not fall beyond 11 or 12.My guess is Boise is bringing a big number. A win there basically secures them a spot in the CFB playoff.

No not even close. The section they were on seats around 8-9K and about half of the seats or more were UNLV fans. 5-6K is more in line with the number of Syracuse fans which is still a large number.More like 10K fans in Orange.
ESPN2 is available to 70 million pay television households which is very similar to FS1I get that, but I thought FS1 was a very common portion of most TV packages around the country. I thought it was nearly as available as ESPN2
Not saying that he is playing a decent schedule, or that the percentage makes a difference, just saying all the coaches have more or less sucked since his dad, who many didn't want to stay around at the time, and we either need to give him the entire season to improve, or the AD should have removed him at the beginning of the season. I see picking one program or the other to put all the money into, in this case football, is a defeatist attitude that I do not believe will be the direction the AD takes the basketball program in at the end of the season.Percentage isn’t the best way to look at things. Some coaches schedule tough, some moderate, some easy. And conference always fluctuates with difficulty.
The fans react to … whatever it is …. And that’s the best way to feel the pulse of the program. It takes everything into consideration, including outside influences, which the program/university has nothing to do with, but it’s something they have to contend with.
Attendance, atmosphere, passion … not completely perfect, but the best barometer of where the program is. If fans aren’t showing up, if fans aren’t talking, if the home atmosphere is stagnant air …. As a program, you’re flailing.
Basketball is closer to Hauck era football (in terms of excitement) than it was to even Spoonhour. True, better players under Spoon, closer to the Tark era so you have hangers on …. But it doesn’t change where we are at now.
Thanks, you guys too. Your QB is legit!I'll be rooting for you guys. I really think you have a great team
But it was negotiated from SOMETHING we just don't know what that is.SMU's fees (along with Houston, and the others that went to the Big 12) were only negotiated because that's the way their conference bylaws are written. It says it is a $10 million dollar fee if you leave with a 27 month notice (Believe that's what it was but I'd have to double check). If it is shorter than 27 months, then it's a negotiated fee. All of those schools that left paid much more than $10 million.
The MW has very specific criteria and fees. I'd be shocked if those were negotiated down. The poaching fee could be a different story though
I had a guy in our group tell a UNLV fan during the game...this game is going to the wire and someone's heart is going to be ripped out.Hope so.
Still not over Syracuse game...😀
If you guys beat Boise you are back in the convo.
Liberty Biberty is so damn overrated...they play no one...App State who they beat is not that good this year.
