Maybe because he is leaving after the Reno game regardless. Has to hit the ground running. Incase someone needs to play call the bowl game or even better championship game.

That would be insane us getting a first round bye nothing would change the rules faster than that. They would probably change the rules by halftime of the MWC title game.

Like everyone I think Odom is the key but also don’t look past our offensive success and Marion has to get some credit for that. We have definitely ran the ball well the last two seasons.

Assistant coaches (most) are auditioning for bigger jobs..

Last year we had a less mobile QB with solid arm skill.

This year we have a more mobile QB with less arm skill.

For all the 'clunkiness' we are averaging more yards and more points than last year. (About 10. And about 4 more points)

It just looks different because we aren't getting as many explosive plays in the passing game.

And I think we're all in agreement this is a tougher schedule.

Can Marion be replaced, of course, but outside of red zone offense maybe, really hard for me to complain about the results.

The biggest jump statistically is our defense is giving up over a TD less per game and about 60 less yards per game which is massive.

If Hajj played weeks 1-3 he'd be pushing 2k in the air and 1k on the ground.

I’d also worry about UCF. Malzahn has been there since 2021 with a 21-14 record overall. This season they are 4-6. I could see them parting ways with him.

WVU currently up 21-7 at half.
They have a 5-5 record this season. Over the last five years their record is around .500.

Their history says that they can be better than this but they aren’t horrible right now. Do you break it down?

The key to keeping Odom is getting in the big 12. He will leave eventually if UNLV doesn't get into a power 4 conference. It's the only way UNLV can afford to pay him.

Keep Odom, our AD, and the ST coach. ST getting good results is so against the norm of what we usually experience. I’ve been so used to giving up return game touchdowns but now I’m very relaxed when we kick off and punt.
