And SDSU... the tournament credits payout structure was specifically created for those 3 teams. It hurts teams like CSU, Fresno, WSU that will struggle in this conference, especially if they add Memphis and St. Mary's.

When is CDM going to announce his coaching staff?

Odom took three weeks to install his own staff. So that gives Mullen a couple of weeks to get his staff hired and onboard if he’s on a similar schedule. The next date of interest is Jan . 19. ( this date was hard to find and could be off by a few days either way) That’s the last date for enrollment in the spring semester. Important to get players in spring ball.

There’s some truth to that. Offense was supposed to operate differently and not be a complementary/game management offense. Everything Marion was saying last offseason was this will be an attacking offense with emphasis on speed/time.

As the games got more meaningful down the stretch, the more conservative the playcalling got.

It’ll also guarantee a lot of crying and bickering from that conference. You’re basically giving more money to Boise and Gonzaga, while simultaneously being Wazzu and Oregon States bitch.

100%. The only caveat I’d make to that statement is that holding out for a Big12 invite even if it fails is likely worth the risk of losing out on the PAC. If that happens and UNLV continues to be a powerhouse out west it will only be a matter of time before the PAC makes another invite. In my mind we either end up in the Big12 or PAC in the long run. In that mindset holding out for the Big12 is worth the risk.

The number was closing in on 20 this morning. UNLV better be happy they swung for the fences for a coach, otherwise next year could have put UNLV right back to where they were prior to Odom, but with a much weaker MWC in the future. I hope they get NIU along with another team from back east on board, and I hope the staff coming in with Mullen can both recruit replacements and talk some of the players that have gone into the portal into staying at UNLV.

That provision is only added because Boise thinks it's going to dominate the conference and make CFP on regular basis. No one else would argue they're in that position when they all chose to leave.
