UNLV made their bed since the 90's Tark brought in so much money but the administration **** around and kills the golden goose. Never recover from there. The admin and AD are nothing more than Anti-Tank and their cronies. When the well went dried, they dont know what to do. So UNLV flounder around and end up with coaches like Rollie Massimino and Mensiez. Football was never a success so the school never pay attention to it. Maxson only fame was to brought down Tark. The as$hole never do anything creative him. Dude famous for destroying stuffs.
For UNLV football now, things are going in the right direction. Hopefully, Coach Odom dont have any war with the academic section of the university
We currently have a UNLV President that supports the athletic department instead of going to war with them.

Rebels practice at Raiders’ facility

This can’t hurt recruiting!

“Do you want NFL eyes on you during the preseason? Come be a Rebel!”

** Maybe the Raiders can’t scout these practices?? I did hear that NFL teams can have unlimited visits with players from local Universities so SF would be able to get Cal and Stanford players to visit as often as they want. Likewise with LVR and UNLV players **

Just saw that BSU extended AD Jeremiah Dickey, when everyone was certain he was just a home sale away from moving to Houston to run the Cougars program. That dude has been an idea hatching, money raising fool since he hit town, and the league needs more like him. Got me to thinking, nobody's been beating down the doors of any of the MW houses, begging them to join them, cry as we might for a new, fancy home. Ain't happenin'. It's time to just cinch 'em up, ladies, and go to work. BSU secured Dickey, Harp looks like he has all the makings of a strong AD and he needs paid when his time comes, and there are others around the league. This league needs strength and energy running the athletics departments, and then retention. Instead of constantly peeking over the fence (sorry, PAC ain't there anymore) we need to build what we've got. When the product is entertaining and successful, the money will come.

2024-25 Non Con schedule.

I agree with that. People don’t get pumped for University of Lafayette or Pawtucket state. They didn’t even during Tark’s years, but the team itself was exciting so people went. Our attendance has been really poor for several reasons. Our team hasn’t been good, the schedule isn’t good and there’s tons of competition for people’s dollars and eyes. Add to it we’ve had a program record stretch of sustained sub-mediocre to mediocre basketball, people have been lulled to sleep by lack of expectation.

UNLV hoops is like Macaulay Culkin.

That's disturbing, Joe. Sheesh!

We won't be playing big dogs at home until we're a big dog. When you're just a step above dog 💩, that's who you play.

Maybe they are trying to cut down on the 5-8 home losses per season.
The big selling point for home games is to play teams people desire to see. If they continue to play a lower mid to weak schedule at home, it really doesn't matter how many good road games they play to the casual fan, who will be less likely to buy season tickets without any real marque games.
