On paper, this incoming group is looking really good. I hope that will translate to the field.
This is an excellent pick up. 4* freshman buried in the depth chart coming here as a sophomore, #30 WR in the country. RWIII scenario repeated.More weapons

I get Menzies had all kinds of faults. But fact is we had more ballers in his last 2 years than we have since. And that covers a LONG time.A moron as the AD says everything about why Menzies was hired!
Whoever replaced Coleandra at the end of the season vs a worse opponent was even worse statistically. So yeah, I’d say it was the line that was ass.Someone asked before and I don’t remember…was Virginia’s line just total ass? Was he under duress every play and had to sling it to avoid taking a a sack?
I DID!! II always said with the right hire with the stadium and facilities there was no reason why we could not be successful in FB. Vegas only supports winners. UNLV must invest to have any chance at success. Rice was a anomaly with his recruiting for what we were paying him. Now that NIL is a thing we can capitalize on it with a Home Run hire. Nobody is opening their pocketbook for CKK.Without a doubt. The reality compared to expectations have plagued this program for a long time. But the fact remains, you gotta have high expectations if you want to succeed. It is a slippery slope, but one that many programs navigate. Hell, we did in the past as well. I think that is where frustration sets in with the fanbase. We know it's possible. We've reached the top. It can be achieved. I think if the program could figure this out you'd see a lot of fans return. Take a look at football. Who thought we'd see 40K+ attendance 3-5 years ago? And that number could go up. For the first time in a long time, we have a competent AD who I think understands the landscape. I hope he is putting in the work for the next HC like he did for the last 2 football hires.
A moron as the AD says everything about why Menzies was hired! There was a big falloff after that. As much as the act was inappropriate, really poor timing … some of it probably had to do with the gap between extremely high expectations (great recruiting class) and actual results. I think that took the wind out of people, too … on the heels of that, a terrible hiring process (nail Cronin or Beard, it could have been different) and settle on Menzies …. It’s like the hot girl rejecting you for prom and you end up having to take your second cousin (or sister, if you are a UNR fan, which ends up with action at the end of the night).
There is a “danger” with heightened expectations … and they were driven by strong recruiting. Had Rice recruited like KK, people wouldn’t have elevated expectations as they did, so in part, Rice ended up a victim of his recruiting success. So much hoopla with his signings, hell, think about it - we were showing up for HS games to pull for kids we were recruiting, people were really excited.
I'm with you. I don't know what that conversation looked like between them, but obviously, Mullen has a plan for him, and Alex liked the sound of that plan. You guys worry to much about what his passing % will be and not how he will be used in the offense. Hes not coming in to be the starter. Hes coming for the exact same role he had at Michigan with a guy at OC/HC thats been known to develop players into being QBS. I wouldnt worry about him being "Armani Rogers", hes not starting next year. Hes going to be used in the Redzone, on short yardage situations and to jumpstart the offense. I imagine he will be used in various spots and wanted to join a team that will be competing in the playoffs and has a coach that has developed QBs into high caliber players. Dan wanted him, or he wouldnt have reached out to have him come on a visit.

Yeah, I was contemplating getting season tickets again then the mid season firing. It's been a sh** show ever since. I still go to a few games a year, but nothing like I did before. All desire has been sucked out of me for Rebel basketball. Something I never thought would happen. But as with anything in Vegas, if you win the fans will follow. Simple equation, yet it just seems unattainable for the bball program for some reason. KK will be gone after the season. Harper has to make a solid hire here. If we truly want to move to B12, he can't screw up this hire. They got to start winning and beating legit teams. They also bounced back if you recall with his last season. And then things went really south midseason. Firing, injuries, borrowing a bell boy to fill out the roster for the MWCT.
But the season had interest with McCaw and Derrick Jones and Zimm and Ben, etc. A lot of interest and it ticked up beating Indiana and Oregon.
Lady Rebel game highlights:Oh man I missed it. Hope the cane is replayed or available on YouTube.
They were shorter and lighter at every line position than UNLV. Our center could have been a tackle in that offense.Someone asked before and I don’t remember…was Virginia’s line just total ass? Was he under duress every play and had to sling it to avoid taking a a sack?
Colandrea, from all of one game watching him, has decent accuracy. His decision making was horrific. Again one game. But I can see where Mullen wants the accuracy and think he can work the decision making into him. That’s true about the Utah Tech guy. I forgot about him. He did lead a ranked Iowa to a bowl game. But he also had a 48% completion rate at Iowa and also at Utah Tech. The step down didn’t do anything for him. At least Colandrea maintained 62% through 2 years at Virginia.
Orji seems like a shorter second coming of Armani Rogers, but with a less accurate arm. Fun fact about Orji, one of his brother played with Hajj at Campbell. There is a chance Alex knows Hajj. I wonder if that was also a factor in his decision.
Fergie will never be beaten lolApparently you never heard Whitney sing it.
Meh..the author was a woman.I was flipping channels and came across The Outsiders and realized I never put that movie here. That should be on the list for the cast alone 8 superstars in one movie, the best cast of any 80s movie.
