I have been watching what teams are being viewed for expansion, and have noticed that it would only take a medium bump in attendance for UNLV to move towards the front based on attendance. The following is the 2022 attendance of teams being viewed for possible expansion (these are just teams that are talked about, and I am not looking at the merit of these programs being picked):

Hawaii 9,210 (warped numbers due to current lack of a stadium)
Louisiana Tech 15,082
SJSU 16,422
Utah State 16,954
Texas State 17,541
Rice 19,011
North Texas 19,025
Tulane 20,361
Liberty 20,954
UNLV 22.112
SMU 24,971
UTSA 26,835
Colorado State 26,891
Air Force 26,926
SDSU 29,892
Boise State 35,121
Fresno State 39,067

Based on what I can find from season ticket sales they currently have 5 sections that are sold out, and an additional 10 sections that are mostly or almost sold out (this doesn't include the student section which is blocked out from sales). Last season I believe UNLV only had two sections sold out and only 3-5 sections sold out when including the single game and walk up purchase of tickets during the season. Based on what I have been able to read, I expect UNLV will see at least a 20% bump in tickets sold. It wouldn't take much for UNLV to move up to a level similar to that of SDSU. In the 2022 season UNLV played Idaho State, North Texas, New Mexico, Air Force, Fresno State, and unr at home. In the 2023 season UNLV will play Bryant (no clue why this game is scheduled?), Vanderbilt, Hawaii, SJSU, CSU, Wyoming.
