Now to be fair hockey has the most amount of 'luck' of the major sports. Harmless shot from 20 feet out catches a skate takes weird angle goes in. Your team dominates puck possession triples the opponents high danger chances and somehow you're down 1-0 or 2-0.

If UNLV played Denver 10 times they are losing 9 of them. This just happened to be the one. And it's pretty damn impressive regardless.

What do you think of the actual hire? What's the consensus among Cougs fans?

Not taking shots here, I think New Mexico may have actually made the better hire. Eck completely rebuilt Idaho program with limited resources. Vs Rogers who took over a program that was already rolling similiar to Bobby Hauck.

Pretty bad when there are no posts regardless of game outcome, win or lose. Twitter was...crickets. Avg view count analytics of 100-900 views per post (even from official UNLV feeds) and in the 10's for non verified accounts with over 10k followers.. no replies, no favorites (roughly 0-5 each). Not even the hate threads, and that's rare considering it's Twitter. You've even lost the haters, not even they have anything to say anymore.

And to their credit, they did win a home game by double digits (11) over Prairie View, who is 0-11. They also looked pretty damn good at home against 1-9 Sac State by 7. They’ve been pretty darn good against Quad 4 teams at 4-2.

So please, don’t downplay this victory. It was a good win for the Rebels. Hopefully there’s enough juice in the tank left for Air Force, who, even though they are worse than Fresno across the board, are still a high quality opponent because they beat us by 30 last year.

I aware. I'm saying I don't think Foley is going to drop the million plus dollars to pay for the move to D1. VGK have basically given them free Ice time for games and practice. Some equipment etc. But fully going T-Boone Pickens not sure Foley would. Maybe after this?
