Ah, well at least they have the fond memories of not adding Texas, Texas Tech, OK and OSU to the conference to look back on. That certainly was a sound decision that bode well for the conference.

How about wait for UNLV/AFA to leave before diluting the already diluted conference?

Let's be real, UNLV is the only school that has a shot to leave for a P4. AFA was a threat for the AAC only.

With the addition of NIU, the conference is already covered if UNLV leaves, which is still a longshot if we are real.

I mean, he game planned the game for them so it's not like he walked out without leaving anything behind. I don't blame him for wanting out after he got passed over and to get a HC gig is a good reason to leave. He also has players to recruit, coordinators to hire, etc... leaving 1 day before the bowl game sucks sure, but it's not like he wasn't involved in the game prep for past 2 weeks.

I imagine the new DC will try his best to keep him, but there might be significant offers he's hearing about elsewhere so the decision to pursue might not be in our court at all.. we will see after the bowl game how many departures we get, will likely be a busy 24 hours
