It may up being a near complete rebuild from a personnel standpoint. But at least it wouldnt be from a perception standpoint.

It is easier to tunrover a roster these days but hard to be super successful right away that way. Look and Deion that first year. A lot of buzz, but they ended up being not very good that year. This year was much better.

Even before Odom left I thought we would likely take a step a back from graduation alone. A lot of things lined up to make this past season what it was.

I think we will be good next season, I think we will be a bowl team and still probably be in the mix for the MW championship game. I just don't think we will be winning double digit games


We do need to try to talk some players back and of course hit some doubles, triples, and least a solo home run or 2 in the portal.

The classy thing is that most of these guys waited until after the bowl game.
If our bowl game was later in the month and the window was closed by then, this classiness wouldn't have happened.

That is true, but I really hate seeing some of the players that have gone into the portal, and hope the staff can change their minds. The kicker being a local hurt.

The two portal commits that UNLV has had would both be at or near the top of the class. It is going to take more than a couple of days for them to get more than a handful of commits!

He did just enough at the end of last year to save his job. The NIT run at the end is most likely the only reason he got another year.

I spent plenty of nights out with Larry and never once did a bill arrive for our food or drinks…

you can probably guess how much his monthly rent was at his apartment on Sunset and Sunset

or his car payment was on the Nissan300z he arrived from Texas with and drove until he replaced with a Mercedes almost the day after the season ended in ‘91.

The tickets players got each game were also very valuable.

The MAC gets $ 2.5 mil per school and their deal gets re- negotiated in two years. I don't believe we will get more than $ 3 mil per school. G5 is probably a meaningless term, and getting more so each year as we fall further and further behind. But it's interesting to consider.
