OT: OFF TOPIC Pacific at Washington State

Yeah I don't even look at the various transfer/recruiting/portal sites when looking at UNLV signees. First stop - FBI most-wanted list. Second stop - the pictures on the wall at the Post Office. Then - various jail rosters across the country.

Edit - here you go, I found another recruit for you. Maybe he can withdraw from the draft and go to UNLV instead? :)

Damn. I think his football career is over.

"Pretty good compared to that gang of criminals and dropouts that Mullen is managing to land." 🤣 🤣 🤣

Mullen is on Fire

They said he couldn’t recruit, this man is killing it in the portal last couple days.
It's all relative, his overall class rankings at Florida were 16-11-8-13. Not exactly Kruger-esque classes. But those same classes were 6-4-6-5 in the SEC and was only 1st once in the state of Florida. So if you're a Gator that's probably not getting the job done.

Who, me? Sorry, I haven't been paying much attn to BB. I'm sure my Cougs were looking ahead to Gonzaga on Saturday.

My laser-like focus has been on our FB recruiting. We just landed two more future stars. A preferred walk-on QB from powerhouse College of the Sequoias, and a WR from Monterey Peninsula College. Both Community/JC programs in Cali. On the heels of a stellar DL from Cal Poly. All highlighting our prowess in West Coast recruiting. Pretty good compared to that gang of criminals and dropouts that Mullen is managing to land.

And some of my fellow Cougs are giving me shit about my observations about these stellar, budding Coug stars.

Players and coaches officially signed

No lie our defensive backfield is gonna be stacked. We just need another pass rusher.
We were stacked last year, and unfortunately pretty much lost all of it. However, I like the looks of the guys he's brought in to replace them. Hopefully they'll work well together and with the defensive schemes.

CDM Era: Transfer Portal and Recruits Thread

Colandrea’s passing ability is significantly better in my opinion. A little wild yes, but he has an arm. Orji was brought in on plays for the run. Just thought it was interesting that he’d be considering somewhere that has competition instead of a situation where offense style matches better and he gets to be the guy coming in. He is another Hajj/Sluka type. Wouldn’t be mad about having him as QB2 though. Just doesn’t make sense in my mind why that would even be in the cards.

Carson Beck NIL

The stupidity of paying a guy that type of money that wouldn't even be playing for the NFL. I guess there are just too many people out there with money to give away!
NIL is effectively annual free agency. The pro's can legally prevent annual free agency due to collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) negotiated between player unions and team owners. These agreements are exempt from antitrust laws and allow certain anticompetitive practices when they result from collective bargaining. Until the NCAA or some other body ( a league of the P4 teams skipping the NCAA altogether?? ) collectively bargain with the players this will continue to happen and get worse every year. There is more money than there are talented skill players.

NIL agreements will push AD's and Presidents to form a new college league faster than otherwise would be believed. They are not going to continue to give up that booster $$ to players.
