College Basketball - NIL and the dying sport

All you need to do as look at who is playing who to know that NIL money is killing college basketball.

Final 8 teams:

4 #1 seeds
3 #2 seeds
1 #3 seed

NIL has quickly ended the Cinderella team in basketball, now it is just who has the biggest budget to buy a national championship. I am curious what happens in the next few years as many teams figure out that they have zero chance of ever being competitive in college basketball again?

Indiana with no players remaining

Wondering if there’s a viable model where a school goes after the 3 stars, pays above average NIL for this level of player in exchange for 3-4 year commitments along with some withholding if the player leaves early all towards building a strong team based on team execution rather than pure player talent. In today’s environment perhaps a team that’s played together a few years can make deep runs against teams full of guys that are playing together in their first year.

Spring ball

Obviously, Michigan didn't air it out with him. He did have a couple of good throws 10-15 yards, or so, down the field in the first video. Does he have the ability to throw it deep like Colandrea does?

Last season he passed for a total of 150 yards on 25/47 (53.2% completion percentage). 6-yard average per completion. 3 TD's, 2 interceptions.
Mullen said he has a big arm, but i havent seen it personally.

UNLV offer list!

There needs to be proof of contracted work for compensation. This is being paid for "NIL", while there is no actual use of the NIL.
If they can get TV ads, print ads, appearances, or whatever. But just getting paid handouts right now has nothing to do with NIL and is basically a work around for schools paying players which has been at least illegal.
If a player is getting a national TV spot, sure pay him millions of dollars. But there needs to be some proof of "work" for that pay.
Otherwise they should have a cap and let the school give out stipend for play. But those should have contracts as well.

If college sports is basically professional sports, it needs to work like professional sports. This current situation ain't it.
Amen brother.

Deion Sanders

He has definitely improved the team but time will tell if he will be worth the money based upon production but they had one win and then four and nine so that is good improvement if he improves again he is trending to be worth it and if not then no. But they were a win away from the CFP so imagine they are happy with that after not even being bowl eligible for 7 seasons. If this ends up being the peak he will be vastly overpaid. We will see because now no Hunter or son on the team.

Deion Sanders

Hey may be worth it monetarily. Because he sells, people buy it. But they may be buying bullshit, too.

If you’re into ROI with purely money, yep, I agree. But most fans are concerned with wins, not money. You’d be one of the first I’ve met who are more concerned with money than wins.

A foolproof sign of losing an argument, accuse somebody of being a racist, sexist, fascist or whatever-ist and then tack on bunch of exclamation points because, after all, they emphasize truth.

You tried to paint Colorado as a similar to UNLV. You lost every shred of credibility in this argument by suggesting such.
Says you!

We disagree and there’s no coming to agreement necessary for me.

Why do you still talk about Menzies and he hasn’t been here in years?

Your most pointed opinions are about him and Deion. You said it yourself you have no basis for it but it’s obvious as day why, just be who you are don’t try to cover it up!

As far as credibility, this is a message board not face the freaking nation, it’s all opinions including yours!

I’m done with this, no hard feelings, just observations.
