Obviously he is going to be gone ! Helping out his current team to leave them with a bit of coin after his departure. Buyout is not that much 4 most Power 5 schools plus with contract. 1.5 mil buyout seems very low if he leaves after this season. It feels like McNeese missed an opportunity to get some real money there.

I think itd be to obvious what he was doing and they(he) didnt want teams to baulk at paying a buyout fee or just ignore him in this cycle. Clearly hes trying to help out a program that gave him a second shot, without making the buyout so ridiculous that he cant get out of there after this season. It might also give you an idea of where he thinks his next market will be.. possibly understands he may not be jumping back into a big P5 program or it makes it really attractive price wise to P5 offers, but realistic that the tier of G5 programs willing to pay a large buyout to "level up" to a better program/city is more realistic at that price range...
