We win out and everyone else losses in the just the right amounts and we could be at the top of the conference. ( Unless USU wins out) And of course, every player should be playing their heart out to win every game.
But, even if we win out, with three quad 4 losses I believe the only way we can be sure to get in the NCAA's is to win the Tourney.
If that's true, then the real key is getting to fifth place. That requires one less victory to win the MWC Tourney.
Traditionally, 7 losses guarantee a 5th place spot. ( A few times 8 losses gets to 5th) That means going 5-3 for the rest of our games. We'll be favored against Fresno State, AF, Wyoming and San Jose.
IF we can get those four, then we'll need a win against either Colorado State, Reno ( twice) or SDSU. I believe we should be able to get a win against Reno or CSU and get in 5th. Then the rest is up to seeding and a really strong tourney run.
And for those thinking we can back into an NIT spot check out the selection rules below. Non power-5 is at a distinct disadvantage.
