Official Game Thread Game Thread: UNLV vs Idaho State

Brumfield looks much improved. Going through progressions and has learned to throw with touch instead of fastballs every time. Hope it continues against better competition. Ricky White is a great get. WR group is pretty good

Blowout city, should see lots of 2nd and 3rd string in 2nd half.
1-0 this is how you beat a team like ISU.

However moving forward labor day should be about getting big P5 teams playing UNLV every yr.

Brumfield has more yards passing in the first half then he did the entire year last season! Ricky White could hit 300+ yards if they don't pull him early.

Always hard to judge 2nd team qb when playing with the 2nd team offense, but Brumfield looks much better than Bailey. At least in this game. Bailey looks like your prototypical pocket passing qb. Goes through all of his reads (better than Brumfield), but holds onto the ball far too long which would seem indicate poor pre snap reads. Of course, at least some of that is likely do to playing with 2nd team playmakers.

Rebs look awful 2nd half
Yeah for as good as they were in the first half the second half has been atrocious. Not good if you ask me. If they had kept the foot on the gas and scored 70 points it would have given nice momentum going into the next game. Just an awful 3rd quarter.

I am just overjoyed they solidly beat a team they were supposed to beat. So often, around this time, we already have chalked up another crappy year. Go Rebels.

Yeah it isn't like we haven't played similar teams and lost or played games much closer than they should be. So good to see a blowout.

Not a bad debut by White...damn.

Outside of Brumfield getting bailed out on a dropped int, he looked pretty sharp.

Throws nice deep ball. Had good velocity on his passes. Was accurate.

Running game took a long while to get going.

White is an explosive athlete. Could put up big big numbers thos year...

When you can name all of his misfires, he had a good game. Threw behind a receiver over the short middle. Missed high to a TE downfield … the play which you brought up. And I think there is one more that’s eluding me. I think it was a good pass/drop.

What I liked was some perfect lasers in tight spaces that were on the money … and then the feathery touch pass for a touchdown. He was sharp, he was confident, made progressions … just a great game for him.

Even more is that he was able to elude the pass rush when protection broke down. IMO that sets him apart from Bailey and Friel and based on our O-line, that has to be a factor.

I hope Doug can stay healthy.
