Our usual defense showed up second half. It looks like both our D and O lines got tired as the game went on. I didn't pay attention to rotations but guessing we don't have much depth on D line is part of the reason. Our O line needs some work, clearly. Even early on O line not great. We're a score away now, but even with a loss saw a lot of improvement vs last season.

i'm happy we came back and at least made it 38-30 rather than giving up two more scores and losing 52-23... now let's see if we can get a turnover and tie this one up.

NIU is still and will continue to be a good football team. I think the OOC schedule will prepare us to win a few we didn't expect to. Regardless of the outcome, I love the fight!

It will take time. They have no depth you can see it. They played like they have taken to some coaching. I would say Sanchez coached a good game might have even put coached NIU but it takes players too.

No depth. We need @ 10 more good athletes. We'll look better wining two than we did last year but there just isn't enough in the cupboard.

Of course I would have loved a win, but that's a pretty good effort on the first game with a new coaching staff and system. A few dropped passes killed us, but lots of positives.

UCLA is gonna be tough. They looked really good today.
