While hiring head coaches has become easier for ADs to do in Nevada, it may have become more difficult to hire assistants with the Board of Regents - at least if you want to pay them competitive (top G5) salaries. That may be the reason for the delay. Robert Jones would definitely command higher assistant salary, since he is a head coach now (but making MWC assistant level salary).
