And it’s jading me.

I truly believe in loyalty, unity, I think it’s one of the keys to making a program go.

That impacts my view of Marion. I don’t like people that aren’t fully committed to the task at hand. If you’re always looking, you’re not all in. You’re putting yourself first, I think the program/team comes first.

Not having that, I really do think creates issues, whether hidden or in plain sight.

Assistants are almost always keeping an open eye … they want to move up. But to be actively looking out, intently … rubs me the wrong way. Always will. We had a hoops assistant that couldn’t care less about UNLV and it hurt the program short and as it turns out, long term.

So if Marion is flirting heavily again, I really don’t care if he goes. I really don’t. Yeah, I like the impact he’s had but it’s not like we are talking rocket science either. He wasn’t even the first choice.

The key is Odom. He will make the right decisions regarding an OC if it comes to that. How do you not trust in the architect of what we are seeing. I’d much rather have a very stable coaching staff that is here with Odom for as long as possible, all on the same page.

It may change our offensive style, maybe it becomes less spread and more geared towards traditional offense. I have no problem with that. I do somewhat with basketball because it became our identity. We aren’t married to go go. I do like the TCU-ish type defense though. Active and swarming, players being able to thrive in multiple positions, speed based …

I’m putting the cart before the horse maybe, I guess I get a little sick of malcontents when the going is good.
