At the end of the bench, you need somebody who can give five emergency minutes when necessary. Karl Jones and this guy aren’t it.
Yeah agree. With our roster turnover each year this guy who has produced very little in 3 years at low mid major is a wasted scholarship
There are a ton of ”ifs” in this and if one of them happens, it could derail a good season! If that happens Kruger could go the way of Arroyo! There should be no excuses for underperforming this year, injuries included!
Which is why we should be stocking the bench with guys who want to play and compete, not guys who are going to be OK sitting on the end of the bench...
If anyone thinks Boone playing 30+ at the 5 is the only way, they haven't seen much MWC basketball because we're one Dave Hall 2 minute hack job away from needing a useful 5 for 20 minutes
Well at least it looks like this guy actually played in a lot of games even though his stats are underwhelming. If he gives us 5 hard, knock-players-on-their-ass fouls I guess that's ok.

The Kruger‘s can’t close on C’s continues… it’s always an undersized or non talented option in the middle. And don’t anyone lecture me on how many top Center’s there are in college basketball, that’s not what Im suggesting here. But you mean to tell me we can’t land an Aziz or Diallo type here who are far from hamburger all stars out of high school seems to be a Kruger thing at UNLV. PG‘s and C’s still seem to elude this staff, like father, like son at UNLV! I just hate settling at those two spots, let’s hope Dedan Jr. comes at least?
That's not saying much... I never understood why Karl was here if he just sat on bench and why would we keep 2 Karl's on roster that desperately needs talent/playable talent at each spot

Yes. Dedan and Eric are very close as well. It'll ultimately come down to UCLA and us for Eric. Pharoah and Eric are working on another player to join them here.
Dedan joined them on campus Friday. Eric and Pharaoh were on campus yesterday and today as well.
If Dedan ends up at UCLA, it’s likely we lose Eric to them right? Or would he stay here with Compton?
I'll put it like this so I'm not overspeaking lol. One player controls the fate of our program for the next 2-4 years. Both on the court and in recruiting.
With that being said, don't worry about anything!

With Hill and the Boones being seniors, 2024 will be prime for bigs. Compton and Sherrell would be two big pickups for us.
Compton could be really good. High motor, 6’8” with a 7’3” wingspan and bounce.

There's an interview with the two LSU players, Angel Reese and another...they're returning to LSU instead of the WNBA. They both said "they're good" financially...
I think the situation is a lot different with the girls. Angel Reese is going to be making more at LSU than most of the wnba. The men that can make the jump and be good enough will make loads more than in college. But the ones like Dickinson will stay because the likelihood that they succeed at a high enough level in the nba is lower. I think it will just depend on the type of player.
I personally don’t think Dedan will be good enough to go first round next year. But we will need to pony up.
If Dedan comes to UNLV and we have a good year, good ooc schedule and results, then top 2-3 in the mwc and make it to the ncaa tourney. We should boost attendance enough and interest enough to be able to afford to pony up.
First off Kevin and staff need to put together a better schedule than last year, which shouldn't be to difficult. But they have to peak interest in the program and teams like high point won't do that.

Well that's more likely to do with the fact that he posted 4 photos in full UNLV game gear and "Go Rebels?"
Freeney was offered by UCLA. He has grown to 6'5" since they offered him. Compton Majic has close ties to UCLA. We will see, but IMO UNLV will be in Pac12 and that is why all the interest is being generated. Football has led the way for enthusiasts.

Free will publicly choose between UCLA and UNLV. He hasn't told either coaching staff. His friends know and his AAU teammates know. His mind is already made up. If something drastic changes, he will flip. That's how it works nowadays and everything is fluid. That sucks but can also be good.
Compton already has his mind set. If something drastic happens, he will also reevaluate.
A lot of players rn don't care about history or past records. It's more so play with your friends, have fun, make NIL money, and go crazy and you will move onto the next level.

Taj is the one. It's really between SDSU and UNLV. If he gets into Harvard, they will be a factor but I personally don't think they'll land him.
UNLV vs SDSU will be the final battle.

You forget that UNLV basically is the Harvard of the West. So there's that.
