If the Rebels ever draw 65,000 people, then that stuff will make a difference.
Gender? C'mon.
This is Vegas. Unless you can show how to make $10 million for the hotel industry, forget about any $8 million.
Male, female, whatever.
Oh for sure..
But I'm not talking UNLV..
My point is big picture..
South Carolina won the women's basketball tournament back to back I believe.
If South Carolina has a chance to grab a 5* male player and pays him let's say 1 million in an NIL deal, you don't think the women's team or players aren't going to ask for an equal share?
We already saw it in soccer.
I'm saying at some point those not getting the money are going to want a piece of it...
If a booster is willing to give a women's basketball player the same money cool. No issue with it.
But we both know it's unlikely. And because its it's unlikely to happen, there will be grumblings about NIL inequality..
My main point being, it will be impossible to limit this to just football/basketball.
At some point Olympic sports like track or swimming are going to say they work just as hard. Women's player of the year is going to argue or say she should be compensated equally..
I'll bet you 100 imaginary dollars this comes up in the next two years...
