Feeling

We are better, we should win, we should win easily, should bulldoze them on the ground.

But this feels like a HUGE trap. If you lose, what do you actually lose? The fantasyland BCS playoff. Which was never a consideration pre or post Odom. Plus, that pipe dream would be semi salvageable with a sweep of Boise, which would be probably required anyway. You don’t lose conference standing with a loss.

I do know a loss will disappoint/depress me. But I don’t think it bends the needle much.

The big game is next week regardless of today’s outcome.

I still think we win by double digits. But can see where we overlook. And that, overlooking … that’s coaching prep. But I’ve seen coaches sell, sell, sell … sell very well … still comes down to the player. We just saw the LJ video and he was a leader.

Top 100 Basketball

We can't even make the top 101 LOL. When you are listed behind Yale, Vermont and High Point you're in bad shape.

Stumbled Across This..(Big 12 Expansion/UNLV)

Stumbled across this on YouTube. Videos a bit long has some commercials. Anyway guy is a West Virginia fan that talks a lot of college football. He dedicated an entire 20ish minute video about Big12 potentially adding UNLV.

He mentioned two quotes from sports writers that prompted him to do the video.

He's pretty level headed did a prospect and cons but seems to think UNLV to Big12 might have some legs.

One quote in particular (I think around 6 minute mark?) from Big12 commissioner was pretty interesting. Paraphrasing commissioner said Big 12 does. 'Wants BIG12 to have more events in big media markets like Las Vegas where Big12 doesn't have a presence 'yet'.
At 4 minute mark he discusses Texas Tech writer saying UNLV was under considerations for BIG12 a year ago.

He's pretty informed on how the PAC/MWC stuff went down and the agreement UNLV signed with MWC.

Anyway decent listen.

Assuming Hawaii gets done..Then what?

Getting Hawaii done is paramount obviously but after that then what.

Saw adding Hawaii as full member could keep MWC media deal around 5-6 million. Amazing what the degenerate gambler demographic adds to your media market value.

CUSA teams seem the most likely potential additions but not sure how much any would add to a media package. There are some interesting Sun Belt teams but honestly unless you could add a minimum of at least 4 'Eastern' schools not sure it makes much sense for any to join financially without travel partners.

NMSU seems a natural fit but being only 100k population in Las Cruces and only 50 miles from El Paso they probably don't add much for a media deal. UTEP despite their struggles was the better choice based purely off their population vs NMSU.

Sam Houston State gets you a second team in Texas and they are playing decent football.

La Tech probably a no.

Western Kentucky would be a good get and increase conference footprint but would need travel partners.

There just aren't many West options really.

Not sure even as football only Toledo and NIU make a lot of sense. Feels like you would need a few more 'Eastern' teams as travel partners for it to make sense.

8 with Hawaii full member gets MWC to the magic number but means teams are going to need 5 OOC games which isn't ideal.

Cost of Suites for UNLV football season tickets?

Does anyone know how the suites work for UNLV games? I've heard people say that they're separate from the Raiders games, at which point I'd guess you could probably acquire them for unlv season tickets. I'm just wondering how they do the cost of those? Is it based on occupancy? Do you have to buy the suites, and then buy tickets too? Or just get the suite and you can bring up to 20 people (or whatever number it is) into them with no problems?
