Back to the OP.

I do think that the NET needs to be a huge consideration when putting together a schedule. It has been a huge factor for other mid major teams, and definitely in the MW in general.

Those 5 road games will ALL be quad 1 if the rankings hold up ( unlikely, but it is still a very good start). That would be top 25 easy in the country in terms on OOC quad 1, probably better. That is very good.

The flipside of that is you want to take advantage of NET to entice some of those games to be at home. It gives you a better chance to win, and with the new rules, teams should not be as afraid to schedule UNLV as a true road game since there is a very good chance it would be quad 1 for the opposition. Also of course for a struggling fan base and attendance, you need games that will get butts in the seats.

Also flipping some of those lower 200's level teams to a road game will make those games quad 3 instead of quad 4.

So a perfect world, you flip all of the top 30 games for home, and you keep the 50-70 for the road. Also flip the lower Now realistically you cannot expect that to happen, but it could be better.

Bottom line there will be a lot of Quad 1 games next season, and that is a good thing. As we learned last year, we absolutely cannot drop any of those home games. At least no more than one. But bottom line this is a good schedule that easily has the potential to get us in the NCAAT.
You say NET doesn't need to be a huge consideration and then the rest of your post talks almost exclusively about NET.

I thought that chicks dig the long ball

Obviously you have never been involved in MMA.
Got it. Hence the term, "fighting chance." It means anyone (i.e., Buster Douglas) can catch lightning in a bottle on a given day. Especially with fighting since we've all done it since we were kids.

By that same logic, maybe the UFC fighter can grip the bat properly, time the pitch, and take one out of the park, since we've all done it since we were kids. I see your logic now!

We hired someone from the cheerleading team as athletic director..true story

someone should do an in depth documentary of UNLV: The rise and fall of incompetent athletic programs

The problem is the rise and fall was so long ago that no one outside of the UNLV community cares. Maybe you show it at an alumni association meeting? UNLV's athletic department has been completely incompetent and irrelevant for 30 plus years.

Good video

I don’t like a general platoon system. Don’t mind if a guy comes in for a series now and again, prefer it as the right time, right place instead of strictly scripted.

But I think you need to tab somebody as “the guy” … then you need to decide upon length of the leash …. That’s personnel management, coaching.

I haven’t had any reason to doubt this staff.
John Madden is credited with saying, “if you have two quarterbacks, you actually have none.”

Good video

One drive, one guy, another drive the next. Could work, might not also for reasons you gave. Just frustrating for players that it likely will be a 55 to 45 type of choice and the guy at 45 gets very few snaps.
No, it doesnt. Not at D1, if it did, you'd see the teams that can get 2 5 star QBs doing it... You have to have a #1 and there's always a #2 guy. Both QBs knew the situation they were signing into. That's why they're in a tough competition. We need 1 to come out on top, not play in a time share.

Good video

Sluka playing lacrosse is something I did not know. Getting past people and accepting contact while doing what you need to do are keys in that sport. The others guy seems good also. Would we ever rotate qbs?
Hopefully only situationally at most. Maybe a package here or there for a few plays to keep defenses guessing. Just because we have 2 capable QBs doesnt mean you wnat to have them both alternating snaps. Teams need rhythm and cadence and each QB will be different and that can really cause a ton of issues like False starts or turnovers because of early snaps. Also each QB has a different throwing motion and preference for handing the ball off. It just doesnt work.
where having 2 QBs does work is making the starter earn the role, and continue to maintain elevated play, and the occasional misdirect or change of pace during a game. I dont want to see some crazy system where they try 2 different QBs all the time and it doesnt work.

Good video

Sounds like we are loaded. Schedule also loaded though. Not many guaranteed wins on the schedule.
Technically, there should never be any game considered as a "guaranteed win, however if you look at the schedule, there are some "definite should be wins" as we get to play the entire bottom half of the MWC who are all likely to be terrible. Id put 6 in that category. Reno, Hawaii, SDSU, SJSU, and Utah St along with Utah Tech... remember, these arent the same programs that have given us trouble in the past... SJSU lost their coach and QB, SDSU is in a full rebuild, Reno is terrible, and Utah St.'s program is a mess right now.

Kevin should be ashamed:

TKM was a disaster of epic proportions. It’s not so much the midseason firing as it is her incompetence. She had a problem and it showed in her decisions, the waffling, the statements to the press. She had no business being AD. Zero.

She did not understand the business, did not think things through. She didn’t know how to close a deal, communicate contract details with the trustees/board. Her biggest mistake was how emotional she got when Texas Tech called that they were hiring Beard. Instead of being offended and telling them no way, you CANNOT DO THAT! WE JUST HIRED HIM! She couldn’t negotiate for time/couple days before they announced it, schedule a home game with TT, maybe even football too.

OT: what is the name of this song?

And this is why I hate the CEO of YouTube who died and got rid of the dislike button and the “it’s copyrighted music”

Is BS.

Oh please pray for my yoga instructor’s son who killed himself today. He was an awesome kid. Just 30 years old. I went to his birthday party in March or April.

He was a music major who couldn’t find a job out here. I even told him don’t worry about getting a job. It’s hard. I had him talk to my old neighbor who worked corporate. She didn’t work at Vons anymore.

I didn’t know he was having issues with his psychiatrist and he had a gun and killed himself in front of her.

They were LDS and I don’t know the exact circumstances but last year I went over to their house and they fed me food and made me feel welcomed. I even got stoned afterwards with them. I met the grandmother who is retired from BYU and taught English. I met her mom and would give them YouTube videos to watch..

Look, I even asked them to do a Mormon baptism of my mother for me in case my church was wrong on the subject. They cAllen the headquarters in Salt Lake to get approval.

my yoga instructor and her son even met my current roommate a couple of months ago.
