My 5 favorite NCAAfb teams for the next 3 weeks.....

Nick Nash is leading the country in receiving yards. They can still throw the ball well and will be a big challenge for us.

The bigger issue last year was their rushing attack. They put up over 200 yards on the ground last year, which really hurt us. If we shut them down on the ground, I think we win easily.
Last year he threw at will on us, 250 2 TD, no picks. Over 70% completion. He wasn't a statue either. Not a great running QB, but it was possible, something we had to contain (I think with Hawaii he broke 100 yards maybe twice against us?).

I haven't watched more than a handful of SJSU snaps this season, so other than knowing Nick Nash is balling, I don't know what they are doing. The only marginally good team they beat was last week, Oregon State. The teams they have beaten are a combined 15-42 overall, one of which is 3-7 FCS.

Nick Nash receiving yards:
170 vs FCS Sac State
225 vs 1-9 Kennesaw State
152 in the 2OTL to WSU (their best performance as a team)
161 at Oregon State

Then 90+ in all but one of the other games. They have 851 total rushing yards through 9 games. That cannot be the reason we lose to them in 2024.

Rebounding

One of the major reasons we suck is rebounding. This year and the three previous years we have been 252nd, 244th, 244th and 123rd in total rebounds per game. You can't be consistently that bad in one the most important aspects of basketball and expect to win. Period. IMO, here are only two reasons this can happen. 1) Not considering toughness in recruiting. 2) Not coaching properly. I think we have both.

Fortunately for us, no Chevan Cordeiro!

I love KK and will never forget what he did for the program in 06-07.

But it is clear that he is not working out as head coach.

It’s unfortunate because he really had no business being hired as HC in the first place. Extremely under qualified at the time and DRF hit the easy and cheap button picking him. He took the opportunity so it’s on him, but he really was put in a position to fail.

I hope he proves me wrong the rest of the year, but based on last night, I doubt it.
We all know that DRF is just a sleaze using her ethnicity and gender for a 7 figure salary on the back of an absolutely horrible job at UNLV.

I have never been so disinterested in BB in the last 30 years. FB is helping ease the pain. We were vastly superior last night. Like night and day. We should of won by 20 plus easily. I am not saying we are TOP 25 or even close to it. Im just saying we are under preforming with the talent we have. Players do not look well coached. IMO. I think we could of gotten the same results with Menzies. We struggle the last 3 years to put bad teams away. Seems like when we play scrappy teams it our Kryptonite. We dont have that killer instinct.

I wish there had been some sort of urgency in the offseason. With recruiting, with some sort of philosophical change … something. Because it seriously looks like the same things. Recruiting similar, even the new signees … the product, its the same plays, same MO, same defense. They weren’t at all effective before and the talent hasn’t been significantly upgraded. Just replacing faces and doing the same things.

It’s very bland, very uninspiring. It’s watching the same boring movie over and over.
Recruiting is worse. No way does this team have the talent of last years team. We do have better depth this year is only positive.
